Damn. I did NOT think of that.
MA MEATLOAF!
Damn. I did NOT think of that.
Well I guess that you should report it then because now the same rules will apply to you, federal officer or not.
Well I guess that you should report it then because now the same rules will apply to you, federal officer or not. And I think you need to look up what a Mandate Reporter is.
Destroy the suppressor. That's the only legal way to make it legal and even then its not really legal just not as illegal as before. The crime has already been committed, its just a matter of whether the Man cometh to collect.
I mentioned it in a more roundabout way in my first few posts. If BATFE decides to follow the trail HE will be the first contact. After that they may go after him for turning a blind eye. He thinks he is exempt from legal pitfalls because he is a LEO. He is sadly mistaken, especially with the current BATFE Administration.

The crime has already been committed, its just a matter of whether the Man cometh to collect. I do not recall was the SOL is on violations of the NFA, I'll have to look it up. Nonetheless, your "friend" is in violation every day he possesses until he is no longer in possession. That being said, I'd like to know more about the ownership situation here. We have:
1. Company
2. Trust
3. Individual
Who owns the damn suppressor? Who possesses the suppressor in real time?
The trust has the suppressor in their safe until this resolved.
How did I turn a blind eye when the first thing I did was contact the ATF? And what legal pitfall am I subject to. The extent of my obligation is to notify the ATF it is not my jurisdiction to make a lock up.

I did. But maybe you're a special "Federal Officer" who doesn't have to report crimes. But still, coming here to discuss helping your "friend" continue to break the law is still 1) dumb and 2) against forum rules. And I think you need to look up what a Mandate Reporter is.
Best. Thread. Ever.
It's past my bedtime, but I'm glued to this train wreck.
