That'd be bad-a$$ed! You might have to make two...:innocent0

Not a problem my friend. :)

Here is what I was thinking...

Buy 16" DPMS G2 Carbine with Collapsible Stock, Dust Cover, and F.A. (If they make one)

Chop Barrel to 12.5" (Carbine Gas)
    Install SLR Gas Block
Install Mid Length M.I. Gen 3 Mlock FF Handguard
Install Mid Dummy Length Radius FSB (Mini Dissipator)
YHM Suppressor Mount and Blast Shield
    Reliability Package
    Tubb Buffer Spring
    SSA-E Trigger
    MBUS Pro Rear Sight
    Raptor

    I like it!!

Uh oh, gonna need to build three!

I better start saving for it now. I've already got the can for it. I'm thinking of doing a Multicam paint job on mine. Been itching to do one on a rifle for a while.

I'd been asking opinions on FDE for ARs and his I'd really like OD green, but I'd love to see or do a multicam paint job on one, but I am too cheap to pay someone to do a good cerokote job like that and don't even approach the necessary skills.

Maybe some day. For now I am going to go Magpul OD green grip and butt stock and I'll do some of the durable flat OD green Krylon rattle can on the free float handguard.

For a battle rifle I still say AR-10 DPMS pattern.

Or you could go Garand and swap it in to a composite stock. Those wood stocks are so over built it is one of the few rifles you can often swap to a composite stock and lose weight. You could always pay someone some day to swap the floor plate over to a magazine setup.

AR10/SR25 Pattern Rifle or Carbine is the only answer based on MD Laws and your budget.

The SCAR is a nice gun and rarely needs parts, but when it does, parts are HARD to get.

The FNAR is a very accurate gun but a bitch to tear down and maintain. The Polytech and Keltec are turds IMO.

Love the accuracy of my FNAR with my Nightforce scope. Have gotten use to tearing in down but it is not as easy as an AR10

I considered a VEPR, but I've read too much about extractors breaking and being too hard to come by.

54r extractors have been the ones breaking. But occasionally Legion gets spare ones in. I bought one just in case, since I love the dag gone thing.

Lol, I know what I'm adding price alerts for next. :)

And I checked last night. I've put links below for anyone who's shopping.

The DPMS G2 with carbine gas comes with the lighter weight, chrome lined barrel (overall platform is 7.5 lbs!) and is often called the AP4 model which has furniture variations in the $1000-1100 range ...

The one with mid-length gas and heavier stainless steel barrel commonly called the Recon model which also has furniture variations (and 10 or 20-rd mag options) in the $1200-1300 range ...

The recon is heavier at 8.75 lbs, but still light for an AR-10. Apparently, these might have brass ejection issues for left-handed shooters based on discussion comments here ...

There are also grumblings about part and component availabilities.

Other than this, many of the reviews are highly positive about the revised G2 series and note the rifle's accuracy (often evaluating versions with 16-inch barrels).
