Hello from DC

Just wanted to say hello to you fine people and introduce myself. I live in Washington DC about .5 miles from the DC/MD line near Bethesda and am a lifetime member of GOA and have my DC and my Utah CCW. Someone on another forum I am part of recommended I check out over here as I am applying for my MD wear & carry. I applied back on December 6th and an patiently waiting.

My favorite range is Delmarva Sporting Clays in Mardela Springs MD. I have probably seen some of you there before (just guessing)

I have though about joining one of the closer ranges but most are only 100yards and that just feels a bit limited, and most other 300yrd ranges are equally as far or have high membership fees I can’t currently justify.

I am probably over sharing but who cares. It’s nice to meet you and I hope we will get along.

Yeah it takes a bit. I would budget about 2 hours of your day when you go to get the DC permit. They are understaffed and DC isn‘t giving them the funding needed to hire the extra hands they need.

Also as for finding the time I think appointments are booked at least a month out at this point and the up to 90 days doesn't start ticking until you complete the appointment.

My recommendation is be polite and smile and thank them for their hard work. I think it makes a big difference in how motivated they are to get your paperwork processed from the pile of paperwork they have to process. For example I think the average time when I submitted mine was 45 days if I recall correctly, mine only took 6 days. I truly believe that being polite and courteous contributed to that.

Hello from Columbia, Maryland. I have been to that range on a number of occasions. It is my favorite so far.
