Agreed. They should lose qualified immunity and be PERSONALLY accountable. It's been mentioned before, but it boils my blood that legislators aren't held accountable for passing blatantly unconstitutional laws.
This is a direct FU to SCOTUS. And they know it.
My bad. Rereading...I'm exempt however, the double fees is correct and is certainly arbitrary. Like magic they go "poof"...more money out your pocket for a constitutional right.Has always been 8 hours of training for renewals.
Don't forget the tar and feathers too...Agreed. They should lose qualified immunity and be PERSONALLY accountable.
Absofreakinglutely!Agreed. They should lose qualified immunity and be PERSONALLY accountable.

8 Hours of training for a renewal has been a thing since 2013.Double the fees AND 8 hours of training for renewals. WTF!!
yep...already pointed out.8 Hours of training for a renewal has been a thing since 2013.
The renewal already required 8hrs of training. Unless they unamended it, the senate cut the fees by $25. So it is more like a 50% increase rather than a Doubling. But yeah, still a big FU to usDouble the fees AND 8 hours of training for renewals. WTF!!
What a crazy system. I wonder if the delegates/senators even know what they are voting for most of the time. From the little I've been able to follow online it seems like they really don't.As has been pointed out to me in a text - there were, allegedly, some final amendments from the Senate that are not reflected in the current "T" version of the bill. It may take until Monday until the actual Concurrence vote text is reflected in the PDF on the bill page that I linked.
No. They are told to vote a particular way, and they do. Go talk to some. Many can’t put together a coherent sentence. What a crazy system. James demonstrates cowardice once again. Muse, too.HB-824 passed the Senate by a vote of 28 - 13, in the fourth Senate floor session on Good Friday, last night at about 11:30 PM.

The fee doubling is also a violation of the 14th amendment because it discriminates against lower-income persons, most of whom are minorities. That's a big Bruen NO-NO.That won’t go well in court. Arbitrarily doubling already exorbitant costs for someone to exercise a Right. It’s a short term impediment. I believe in the long run, this helps us. It proves there is too much fuckery the GA can engage in when permits are necessary.
