I hope they do it. Seriously.

Only when it affects EVERY/Most every gun owner will there be forced change.
Going after/banning items less frequently owned will not "rally the masses". Examples would be...bump stocks...pistol braces....80% frames....
This ban would affect MOST and that would be a good thing for gun owners.
Only when the crossing of the line is so blatant will people ban together against a ban. Until then, they will say " it doesn't affect me".

I've said for many years that even though there are some discernible differences between the gun controllers' least favorite "assault weapons" and some other semi-automatic guns, those differences are nearly impossible to define in legislation. I've also always worried that at some point, they'd realize that they need to ban either (a.) all semi-auto firearms with detachable magazines, (b.) all magazines holding over 10 rounds, or (c.) both. I guess that we're seeing the first signs that they're finally having that epiphany.

It doesn't matter, though - ultimately, this will never pass. Not when it bans basically every gun being manufactured today.

New law idea: To be elected you have to be able to operate a computer and a cell phone without help from someone half your age.

I saw in today's WaPo, there is an insert "Terror On Repeat: A rare look at the devastation caused by AR-15 shootings"

This is where the MSM is heading this year. You can count on an all-out assault on the AR15 and its cousins(all semi-automatic firearms).

(I only get the Sunday edition for the crossword puzzles)

    And the comics?

They were the only thing that kept me looking at the Post, for years. Then I found a site that would
let me get a huge comic dump in my email every day for like $12 per year.

When they banned Dilbert, I chose not to renew. I miss some of them, though.

Rest easy, as they canceled the weekend magazine a few months ago, so they got their payback. I used to get the WashTimes Sunday paper just so I could do the NYTimes Sunday puzzle, but they quit carrying it, so I quit getting it.

I can't read papers. There should only be so many sentences that end with "..., he said." or "..., they said."

Maybe a better way of saying it is there must be understanding of the current times and to work towards policies that actually benefit the general public rather than actively harm them. I think the founding fathers were very in tune with the issues of their time and did a lot to advance society forwards. The same cannot be said of the current gerontocracy.

The whole " That was back then , but we need to change things to protect people today " thing is the exact reasoning that the Anti's & Socialists are porporting , as excuse to strip our rights and freedoms .

Don't blame the old dinosaurs. The new crop may be even worse. Newsome, the Squawed, Beto(ff), and Hogg, for only a few.

I read this as the assault weapon ban of the 90s under a different name.

It goes way beyond that. It wants all semi-auto pistols to have integrated magazines that hold <10 rounds.

I like how they spell out the "Specifically Exempt" guns and then spell out all the non-semi operated guns they could think of. Of COURSE they'd be exempt...they aren't semi autos, which is what your bill is supposed to be aimed at!

Instead of turning up the temperature in the pot in which the frog is slowly cooking by 3 degrees, these clowns are proposing to turn the temperature up by 10 to 15 degrees.

What they are too stupid to realize is, the frog will figure out that its in a stockpot and not a Jacuzzi and will jump out.

    You're being optimistic.

We both know they don't want us to have any firearms, at all.

They just have to gnaw away a bite at a time.

Actually Handguns are 15 rds or less.

Rifles & Shotguns are 10 rds or less .

    Added for poor humor :

That sound you hear in the background is the tooling up for replica Red Nines .

The other sound in the background , is George Kelgren both dusting off the blueprints to the Grendel , and busily up sizing the design .
