Just finishing up the second two a four boxes we put in the front yard built with true one by six White oak from the local sawmill here on Eastern shore.

For two of them I charred the inside as a waterproofing measure, well see how that works

To avoid spending a ton on filling them, we first loaded two of them with rotted Maple rounds we had on the property the other two got brush. All then got natural mulch topped with 10" of screened topsoil.

This project is also a great opportunity to get two of the younger boys 11 and 7 involved in the process...since my 19-year-old has left I've been hurting for good help and realized it was time to start training up the next group of boys

Wow, I know how you feel. I do everything possible these days including peeing out there. Lol! I put my hair clippings out, Irish soup, have an electric fence, place things on the inside where they would jump. It’s a constant battle.

Those are some nice looking raised beds! That's the thing with raised beds though, before you know it, you're in for almost a grand. I used those concrete raised bed blocks from Lowes. They worked well so far. I get compost from Veterans Compost in Aberdeen and top those babies off (and the traditional beds).

I got an alert a bit ago that the US National Weather Service has issued a Frost Advisory for Towson, MD for Aug 18 from 2am-8am. Jesusss. 6 hours shouldn't hurt most of my plants and hopefully it's one of those frosts that are above 32F.

Going to finish tilling this weekend and then everything goes into the ground starting on the 29th. Trying a few different things this year to keep the critters away.

How's everyone's strawberries? Mine are finally coming along. Up down weather has not been ideal.

Groundhogs ate all my beans one year. They are really good climbers actually.

I’ve been using an electric rent a coop fence that all but one didn’t like. Eley subhollow resolved that.

I watched one test the fence in couple areas then ran to the woods
