So which one are your folks here voting for? To have a chance, we all need to get behind the same one.

Oh sure, THAT's gonna work. At last count, I think there are approx. 30-35K registered members on MDS. Even counting the lurkers, no more than 50K, many of which aren't eligible to vote in MD.

This isn't the primary where a candidate can be DINO'ed. Pick from column R or D because any other choice is a D by proxy.

No candidate other than Jealous or Hogan will win.
Unless Hogan trips big time before November, I think Hogan is the only candidate and the real question will be the margin of victory.

I do hope that Jealous continues to go full socialist/communist so Hogan can repeatedly ask Jealous in the debates how Jealous is going to pay for these things without driving businesses out of state.

Undecideds put those numbers within the margin of error.
Polling had Brown winning in 2014 and no one need a reminder of how the 2016 presidential election was polled...

30-35k registered members, but only 100 or so who are very active, and less than that who actually go and fight for the 2A.

If you can get 2k two write-in NO GUN GRABBERS you can have a better 2022 candidate. Or you can vote for a gun grabber and have Rutherford as a candidate in 2022. The decision is yours...

    Political Optics ...

Ed, respectfully, the signing ceremony was the definition of caving. He put politics over principles because he wants to claim the center and get re-elected. The reasoning is wholly irrelevant. Horse trading with our fundamental rights is a recipe for failure and the mark of a dishonorable man.

    Our rights are non-negotiable.

Then tell me, what did it mean when Hogan signed 1302? You know, this one:

So you're hell bent on having Hogan loose because a bunch of *****-hat-wearing c-words got a photo-op ? Sure, that signing made me nauseous, but you've known me a long time Boonie ... I'm a pragmatist and I want to live to fight another day ... not die in a socialist hell-hole.

I agree that "Our rights are non-negotiable", but if BJ wins, we'd better be ready to back up those fighting words.

Oh, I absolutely agree. Given that I haven't seen a sign or heard a radio ad for any one other than H or J, I think it is too late for anyone to have a chance. Just like that "What's Aleppo?" third party candidate for president (somebody Johnson, right?). If he was going to have any chance, he should have been a household name long before that became his mantra. But...maybe my mind could be changed?

But...I'd like to see who else is out there. Maybe...maybe if they are that great, and we can get behind them now (or, starting 11/7/18, at least) and stay behind them maybe they'd have a chance at 2022. Maybe...I'd LOVE to see a third party (one of the ones that leans our way, of course) have a chance...but they need to be visible.

I've answered that question multiple times in each Hogan thread on here.

Why so coy? Simply typing their first and last name would have been fewer keystrokes than that statement, and I could be learning about them right now instead of trying to drag the answer out of you.

    I agree.

Short of a major October surprise, like Cohen releasing an audio tape of Trump paying hush money to Hogan for an affair they had, Hogan wins easily.

Its not as simple as a first and last name. Go to the start of this thread and read it all to see what I am proposing. I've posted suggestions and statistics and historical facts and figures to back up what I'm suggesting.

    THERE IS NO DIFFERENCE. .

Really. You think there will be no difference between how Hogan runs the executive branch and the way a socialist would (and promises to do)? If you're so sure there's no difference on 2A (though there is, and substantially, and you know it), then why are you so anxious to inflict a socialist on us in all of the areas where the differences are real, stark, immediate, and nearly impossible to undo? Be specific.

There are more effective ways to express our dissatisfaction after Hogan wins. Writing in NO GUN GRABBERS is like peeing yourself in a dark suit ... you get a warm feeling but no one else notices. Besides, do you think that The B'More Sun, The Crapital or WaPo would publish those write-in stats if Hogan wins ? But, you can bet they would if he lost just to rub salt in our wounds.

But what you won't do is assert that anyone other than Hogan or Jealous can or will actually win. Because you know that's the reality of it. So you're tap-dancing and virtue signaling while proposing a course of action that favors the socialist. Why do you favor the socialist?

Your family here in MD is going to write in, "No Gun Grabbers?"

I don't want to re-read this thread to piece together all of your easter eggs. I saw there is a Libertarian and Green Party candidate on the ballot...but it's not as simple as one of them either?

Maybe we should write in "Jeff Hulbert." He probably has more name recognition than Mr/s. No Gun Grabbers.

Shawn Quinn is the libertarian candidate for governor. His operation is pretty small and I won't pretend that he's likely to upset the major party nominees, but he speaks to things that are important to me, and most importantly, hasn't raped me in a political manner of speaking, kissed me on the cheek, and asked for my vote again.

If am not mistaken, previously Quinn was a gun grabber. Some how he changed his mind this election.

    Night all

As much as I would like to carry on with this discussion, it's past my bedtime and I might very well need the extra rest to defeat BJ rather than mixing words with my Brothers in 2A.

Again with that straw man argument? 2,000 votes will not sway the election one way or the other, and I seriously doubt we could get 2,000 MDS members to participate in anything on here, even an AR-15 karma give away. Muleskinner not voting, voting for Quinn, voting for Jealous, writing in NO GUN GRABBERS, it's not going to put Jealous in the governor's mansion. Hogan beat Brown by 80,000 votes and the margin over Jealous will be even bigger.

Let's make a bet. If the margin of victory in the 2018 Maryland Gubernatorial Race (no matter the winner) is less than 2,000 votes I lose and will buy you a brick (550) of Winchester 22 LR ammo and have it shipped to your house. If the margin of victory is greater than 2,000 votes, I win and you send me a brick (550) of Winchester .22 LR ammo.
