"Firearms instructor" vest

I was at the range yesterday and a few security guards where qualifying. The instructor had on a big red vest that said "instructor". I agree wearing a shirt and professional attire as an instructor if part of the gig, but this is the first guy I've seen with this type vest.

Got me wondering, do you guys wear things like this when instructing on the range? If not what do you wear.

Our Instructors & RSO's wear them. Some added their MD Hunter Safety, NRA or Utah patches to the breast. The cost for each vest was about $9.

Does the vest come with cool leather belts with your name and hobbies stamped and colored in the leather ?

personal pref really. on the range.. orange vest works.. classroom.. any polo shirt.

I like the vest look on the range outdoors with multiple shooters. Def. helps to show the person in charge. This person had on what looked like a bulletproof vest, with the Velcro straps,etc.

At first I thought a bit to much, but then realized many of us are teaching brand new shooters........ I paused and thought..........

I can't think of any reason not to have the instructors in viability vests. The range master should probably be in a different colored vest, but also in reflective gear.

On occasion, law enforcement and military ranges, the instructor is required to water plates. Take the plates out and TA Da!

Red is attempting to be the recognized color for Firearms Instructors . Vests , Tee shirts , polos , whatever.

It would be tacky to wear one w/o out either Certification or job assignment thereof.

The NRA provides red nylon vests for the attendees of Women On Target clinics. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done!

That's reasonable, But it would be tacticool to have the stamped belt or a strap for a man purse.
