I don't think there is a better medium range optic on the market today than the Super Sniper 1-6. It has true 1 power capability for up close shots and 6X on the top end with a mil dot reticle. The reticle illumination works well, and the glass is very clear. You really couldn't ask for a better scope unless you want to spend Schmidt and Bender or Leupold Mark 8 money.

I've been dying to check one of those out.

I just got my first 1-x ar scope (nikon m223).

I want to see how it runs before I put the money out on the SS. It looks awesome just don't know how it fits with me. I know I love the Eotech, I can't wait to see how the 1-x works.

Bump to revive this EXCELLENT thread. I have an EoTech 553 holographic sight and love it out to 300 yds on an AR platform 5.56, 16" I'm lucky to hit paper at 500/600 yds tho. So I'm looking for a 3x magnifier and have narrowed down to the EoTech G33.STS or a Vortex VMX-3T. I've read the posts above this there is lots of good info and opinions. Anybody want to chime in and relate more experiences with either, or recommend other alternatives?

I have a PA 3x and my Strikefire came with a 2x vortex magnifier.

I'd say spend the cheese for an eotech branded unit.

I'm being tattoed right now though so I'll elaborate later when I'm home. :P

OP, you say you have vision problems. Keep in mind that if you have astigmatism a red dot type optic will not look clean. It will appear more like an oddly shaped blob or octopus. I have this problem myself. I still like my Aimpoint for shooting steel plates (within 300) and paper (within 50) on my run and gun AR15, but I'm not able to do any kind of precision shooting with it. I don't even bother to get get illumination in my precision optics anymore because of this issue.

    Time to elaborate.

While I haven't looked through an Eotech magnifier, the included 2x with my strikefire and the PA 3x leave a great deal to be desired.

Would that society crumbled, and dogs and cats began living together (MASS HYSTERIA!), I'd probably roll with something in a 1-6x flavor and BUIS instead.
