So I haven't been to a regular doctor in years (closer to a decade). Won't go into why or why not so let's just say that I ask a lot of questions and expect doctors to listen to the patient especially when the patient knows that the doctor's diagnosis is wrong.

Anyways, can anyone recommend a good doctor in southern maryland and if you feel like it, explain why you like that doctor?

Females and children- La Plata Pediatrics & Women's Health (they are fantastic but I may be slightly biased because I own the joint).

Males- I'm a big fan of Dr.Smith at Maryland Healthcare Associates in Waldorf. I question every thing and he has an acceptable answer to why we are doing what every time. He doesn't know I own a medical practice and that I run every thing he says and does by over a dozen of our staff.

Johns Hopkins in White Plains is highly recommended as well but I've never been to them.

No recommendation for Jim Harring? :sarcasm:

    Ditto on Dr. Smith.

My wife worked with him for awhile in the emergency room. He is a real good doctor and will will take time to listen and explain everything to you.

Yes old thread but, an important issue and so I'll add:

Now that they have "gone from a 3 physician practice to >100+ doctors" I am sure there are some competent practitioners associated with them however,

I WOULDN'T ALLOW ANY OF THE SHAHS TO TREAT A FAMILY PET, LET ALONE ANY HUMAN I CARE ABOUT.

In Calvert, "Shah" = Assembly Line Medicine :tdown::tdown:

I can highly recommend Dr. Wm. Jones in Shadyside, MD but, that zip code isn't exactly So. MD so may not be of any good to you, OP (still, that I am still more than willing to drive from Solomons to Shadyside after a decade and a half may say something!
