Chance?
Like a flea has a chance of winning a horse race against (but not riding on) a thoroughbred horse.
That kind of a chance. Yeah.
Facts are stubborn things.

Still... even in denial... you just have to call people names.
I know... you were... “Not referring to you or anyone else”. sure... yeah... that’s the ticket.
Psst... you’re catching up.

Hogan is just the key to this election. We have to elect other Republicans down ballot if we ever have a chance of taking over this state. Sure, it's going to be difficult, but to cast your ballot for someone who will not have a chance of winning is beyond my scope of comprehension.
LOL, I’ll tag you later where at least 3 times today alone where you called people names on other posts after I get back from taking my Dad out for his 85 BB. You must have a different set of standards from the rest of us. HA HA .
We've already established that the bar for being insulted has been set really low in this thread so have at it.
RD (and I) like the banter...and that's all it really is so don't take things personally. He's actually a legit person and cares believe it or not.
I never intended to insult anyone but some people seem to take issue if you have another opinion on voting for governor and feel the need to lecture you.
It would seem that those who have decided that Hogan is NOT THE PERFECT CANDIDATE, have chosen to back a candidate that will not win. So, it would seem that for the first time in the history of modern US politics, Quinn the PERFECT candidate, will lose the election.
What I'm trying to say is that even though Hogan isn't perfect (nor is any candidate), why back anyone who by their own account, doesn't have a chance to win the election?

If you think that the bantering that goes on is lecturing, then you might consider the cooking forum. Some are more blatant in their methods. But rest assured, we all have our very own strong opinion on this matter. You can vote for Quinn, Mickey Mouse or who ever you'd like but there are those among us who will never understand why others won't vote for Hogan while he is the only candidate that isn't a socialist AND has a chance of winning. Hogan is the perfect candidate, but he's the closest one we have who has a chance on winning this election. Do I like his entire platform? No. But there isn't a candidate on the ballot (or whom I'd be willing to write in) that is perfect. But he is the one who I feel will work best for my situation in this God forsaken, Demwitted state I call home.
Go ahead and vote for the candidate you feel is the best, but please make sure your vote isn't thrown away because you candidate doesn't stand a chance on winning this election. This is a concept I just have a problem with.
Because breaking the 2 party system has to start somewhere and at sometime. At some point, the "perfect candidate" who (self admittedly) will not win this election, may win the election at some point in the future, given enough people that step outside of the belief that the 2 party system is the only viable option.

Yes...let's punish the better option by allowing the nightmare to take office. Yeah, we will suffer. But at least Hogan learned his lesson and he will be a better Republican.
Then we can post how it wasn't our fault because we did the right thing...in our mind.
Maryland just barely got it's second party four years ago, but it's already started to fizzle out. I'm pretty sure we'll be back to one before long.
So I ran the list of governors of Maryland, by party.
Here's the tally:
Independent - 4
Federalist - 9
Democratic Republican - 9
Anti-Jacksonian - 3
Jacksonian - 1
Whig - 3
Democratic - 23
Constitutional Union - 1
Republican - 9
I'm not drawing any conclusions from this, but it's interesting. The Independents were in from 1777 to 1778. After that, the dreaded Party system took over.
