So when and how does CMP let you know you totally missed the boat?

according to cmp they already did.....for those who missed it...

They will contact you once there are no carbines left to ship

They are into the second batch from what I understand and don't know exactly how many are in marketable condition.

I've read posts from people who got the sorry no carbine email on cmp forums from people who were told they were not getting one.

My guess is we are in the middle batch. Orders that should get a carbine if CMP's estimate of marketable carbines is good. Orders that won't get a carbine if their estimate was high.

This is one of the longest waiting times from CMP I have ever had (I went through the carbine order thing with the last batch of Austrians, and the 03/03a3 thing)

They got it by email, but the emails were provided when they were in house. I have not heard of those that sent mail to receive notifications.

That's how I understood it. No one that mailed a order has been notified, just the people who went into the store that didn't get one got notification via email.

When I was down there in February they were talking about waiting till they knew who would and wouldn't be getting one for sure and sending out a mass message. Who knows if that's actually the plan.

Note: I bought a brand new 1968 GTO convertible in San Francisco when I DEROS'ed from Viet Nam 10/68. Drove it home from there to Annapolis, Md. Some "Amazing" things happened in that car on the way home; and thereafter.
