Charles Daley 1911 Any thoughts?

I just bought a used but super clean Charles Daley 1911 Government in 45cal.(made in The Philippines). Will be able to pick it up next week. The fit and finish was very nice for a lower priced gun. Would like to know any hints about the gun. Any quirks good or bad. I bought it as a knock around, throw in the truck gun. Thanks Chris

I think the CD 1911s were made by Armscor, so it is pretty much an RIA if I'm not mistaken. Should be a good shooter.

I thought the CD's were made by the company that makes the Metro Arms guns. Decent guns. Not sure of the quality of the mags, so of course, look at buying some good mags.

Most of the Philippine guns I've seen have come with the ACT 8-round mag with steel anti-tilt follower. Nighthawk Custom packages these with their pistols so they must be halfway decent. My advice would be try them, see if they work, and if not throw them in the garbage and get good CMC and Wilson mags.

I believe you are correct that they imported Metro Arms

I have one as well and its great. Its solid and no "wiggle" in the slide..! good pick up

Well pick it up and took it home Saturday-ran some JHPs shot good with no problems till the last round of every mag (will change brand maybe Wilson) but still a keeper. Well worth the money. Chris
