centerpoint scopes

I am looking for a scope for my sons .22 for squirels
and a friend has a 4-16x40 centerpoint scope brand new
I would like to buy it but know nothing about them are they decent or junk

Actually.. They are decent... Have couple and they hold zero

It works perfectly on a Ruger 10/22. My daughter loves shooting it.

yeah I thought that after looking it over it seems to be a decent scope
but didnt want to bite without knowing for sure if they are good or not

they are around $70 NIB at walmart...just be aware of the price...I have 2 one on my 223 and on on my 308...they are holding up good!

The 2x7 muzzleloader model works great on my .50 Beowulf. I had a 4-16x50 SF Centerpoint on there and it held up just fine, it'd just get knocked loose in the mount after a few magazines. Both held zero, and tracked true.

For the cost, you could do a LOT worse.

They are what they are.

In today's times , even the cheapest WalMart blister pack scope will reasonably acceptable optics. The quality control will be spotier, but if it doesn't catastrophically fail within the first few rounds you're probably ok. Standing up to heavy G forces won't be an issued on rimfires ( but ironically is on air guns).
