Now I guess we just wait around to see if the crime sky rockets like some of the great leaders of this state would leave you to believe. I wonder if that jacktard at Hopkins is in the process of evaluating this data set?

Here in the USA when the words "Common Sense" are in the title of a law you know that is another attempt by them to come and get your guns. Different in Canada I guess. Sad day when Canada is more American than America.

This is just a proposal by the tories. It hasn't passed yet, IIRC.

They're not becoming like us, and probably never will.

    The proposal:

No jail time for possessing guns with an expired permit within a grace period, but you won't be able to buy guns or ammo until you renew.

Combining possession and acquisition licenses. Yes, they had TWO licenses. Not CCW, just to keep one in your home.

Licenses would be national, and not provincial.

Transport restrictions eased for some weapons (but no CCW).

Swiss arms and CZ858 rifles would have an extended amnesty period

It would be easier for DV to result in the loss of firearms

    Mandatory safety training

Some stuff has been proposed by liberals, including vehicle seizure if caught with illegal firearms (already the law in NJ incidentally, signed by Chris Christie last year).

There is one word in all of that which still makes me sad for the Canadians:

    licenses

Of course, they spelled it licences, so maybe those are kinder and gentler licenses.
