If you're a non-resident. Can you (legally) carry a concealed handgun on your own property?
§ 61-7-6. Exceptions as to prohibitions against carrying concealed deadly weapons.
The licensure provisions set forth in this article do not apply to:
(1) Any person carrying a deadly weapon upon his or her own premises; nor shall anything herein prevent
a person from carrying any firearm, unloaded, from the place of purchase to his or her home, residence or
place of business or to a place of repair and back to his or her home, residence or place of business, nor
shall anything herein prohibit a person from possessing a firearm while hunting in a lawful manner or
while traveling from his or her home, residence or place of business to a hunting site and returning to his
or her home, residence or place of business;
Thanks. I own property to hunt on but live in MD. It was a lot cheaper in WV. Lower taxes also. You pay a lot for licenses though. I usually carry a handgun cause there's quite a few bears around. I was wondering if I was okay. Looks like I'm okay.
well then MD law doesn't apply. WV law would apply.
Norton?
Just my personal opinion (I am not a lawyer)i asked this before...but how about at my apt. also what are the restrictions if i want to "legally" carry? Can i carry only inside my apt? can i have it on me on my balcony? how about the creepy laundry room in the basement? going to get mail and back?

jesus smokey i didnt know they kept hannibal lecter in your laundry room. no wonder you want to move
Now, I'm confused. I always believed that in Maryland you could carry a firearm on your property (in your home, on your property) without a permit, openly or concealed.
If this isn't correct, first don't tell my neighbors, we have all been good for several years, and secondly please let me know before you inform our local police.
I have a sneaking suspicion our crime rate is about to go way up if owning/carrying a gun on your own property is not allowed.
Hold on Cowboy, your thread was assumed about Personal Property in Md, and carrying not Hunting.Thanks. I own property to hunt on but live in MD. It was a lot cheaper in WV. Lower taxes also.
