*facepalm* I wish they would stay the hell in DC and stop trying to make the rest of the country as bad as they have already done.

What standing would they have with a law that is never enforced?

The law exempts anyone who opposes gun ownership or has certain disabilities.

City leaders said the law was mostly symbolic, isn't being enforced and includes no penalty.

sooo....good luck trying to articulate how this law violates anyone's rights...

The Brady Campaign is right. The government can not force citizens to buy a certain product.

Oh wait, I forgot about health insurance,

Exempted from the ordnance are those who (3) "conscientiously oppose maintaining firearms as a result of beliefs or religious doctrine"

So what standing does the Brady bunch have in this? How was anyones 1st 2nd or 14th A rights violated??

I really wish I lived in a state that mandated gun ownership. Only in my dreams!
Before Maryland was a state. All Heads of household were required to own and maintain firearms and ammunition etc.

I don't know when this law was repealed. But, it is an interesting part of our history.
