Its not a mandate if there are exceptions. It is more like a very strong suggestion.

Here's a link to the complaint. They did find an individual plaintiff residing in the town. I still think standing will be a problem.

The law exempts anyone who opposes gun ownership or has certain disabilities.

City leaders said the law was mostly symbolic, isn't being enforced and includes no penalty.

Before Maryland was a state. All Heads of household were required to own and maintain firearms and ammunition etc.

I don't know when this law was repealed. But, it is an interesting part of our history.
