Colt BCG are no better than most other mil spec BGC

You can get an AO Chrome/Phosphate carrier with 158 CS bolt for $90

A Toolcraft same finish for as low as $90(blem) or $130 first quality.

I've read that Toolcraft makes BCGs for other companies, and likely makes them for actual military rifles too.

I still like Colt BCGs a lot.
This. I've been through the factory more than once (and their armorer school) and there's a reason they cost more. They MPT every single BCG in a tank, not sample test like some, and more importantly I have confidence in the assembly line personnel, most of whom have been at their jobs a long time and are expert craftsmen.

A BCG is probably the most vulnerable part of the rifle after mags. It's the one thing one doesn't want to skimp on.
