I think I like the Kimura V spear point the best for overall shape / utility. All of them are very nice though and flip very smoothly, they feel expensive. I really want one of the microtechs but, man those things are expensive!

I've only cut myself 3 times, and not seriously yet :-)

    -Jim

I really like the Kimura V blade myself .. I call it a Leaf point , Sounds less threatening ..lol

I'll be in Balisong Country tomorrow... packing the standard protection kit for the not so friendly southern part of the country.

Always bring enough gun when expecting a knife fight:D

that's a freakin long story.. in a nutshell, authorization from the host country and state department permits.

similar to the procedure when competing overseas in IDPA, IPSC Etc.

Neat! I'm glad you are able to carry overseas. I know it would make me feel a whole lot better. Safe travels sir!

    Nice looking knife btw, bk?

Could be brown, at first glance it appeared (to me anyways) to be blue.

    I can't comment, I don't even have a passport right now... :o

Wouldn't it say OFFICAL if it was and offical passport?

    -Jim

    Yes it would.

My dad told me about the "good ol days" when they used to be red. Turns out it makes makes hijackers and kidnappers think a dollar sign is painted on your forehead. Probably why Scar is using a civie one.

Military can travel on ID cards, some countries require passports , so military/ dependents, peace corps hippies get a no fee " brown" passport with the word " official " on it.

Official= yes, I am part of the US Military machine....

    Blue= standard civilian passport

Diplomatic passports= maroon= says Diplomatic passport

I travel on a civilian passport to keep a low profile.Besides, its a civilian trip... I'm doing a Medical mission in a remote area, got to worry about islamist separatist, abu sayag group, pirates, local thugs, corrupt cops etc. The Philippine Government was also kind enough to support us. There is plenty of security assigned to us. M16 A2 are all over the place.

All the Diplomatic Passports I have come in contact with are black.

I have a Dr. friend who goes down there often to give a hand.

An Original big azz Balisong from Balisong town, Batangas, Philippines. Brass and Philippine hardwood handle, Aguila (eagle) design. It can poke through a quarter without damaging the blade. I have smallers ones that were confiscated by my wife and two sons. Those are the Beinte-nueve ( 29cm) Bali-songs that are more popular for EDC.
All are Hand made, high carbon steel blade called " asero".
I'm scared to flip this thing. Mistakes may cause me some fingers.:D

Beside a Kimber 1911 for scale.

The two balisong I still have in my collection are a Benchmade tanto and a Parker Custom with integral flush handle pins. The tanto automatic right beneath the tanto balisong is also a Benchmade...'cause I absolutely LOVE their knives.

The third one in one the bottom right side can you tell anything about it I have the same knife. I found it a old dresser my neighbor was throwing out years ago.
