What intrigued me most was the implied 'strength' of a balisong. But the more I keep looking around, I'm now not so convinced that it is stronger than one of the best locking folders.

Here is a video by Cold Steel, they have one of the best locking systems for a folder; they do the test you are about to see on most of their knives. But I've seen them put much more weight on many of their locking/folding knives than they are able to put on their balisong:
Start at about 3:15 to see the test.

    No more of that Abomination

Yeah the cold steel paradox is not a Balisong , and does not lock up the same way as most traditional or modern Balisongs. The Paradox does not have "Tang pins" , or even "zen pins ", It also does not have any sort of latch .. What it does have is a over complicated set of internal pins and springs.

the Paradox is the classic tale of how sometimes LESS IS MORE, They went with more and got much less..It is a complete gimmick.

you can see a little better in this vid how the design looks crap .

This thread brings back childhood memories from back home(Philippines) used to have and carry them anywhere I go. Good old days.

why don't you bring back the "good old days" and find yourself a Bali for Everyday carry :party29:

I do not believe he has one .. took me a loooong time to track down his info , then even longer for him to respond.. Now I seem to be able to place orders with him pretty easily. let me know if you need any help .

Here's my newest knife addition. Picked it up at the post office this morning.

    BradleyMayhem.jpg

Bradley Cutlery "Mayhem" balisong (built by Benchmade). My initial impression is that it's going to be my new EDC knife. Initial inspection shows incredible quality: beautiful blade, very smooth action & lock, the bead blasted titanium handles offer a good grip, and good weight to carry in a pocket.

And, ummm, it's really, really sharp. Wasn't paying attention and flipped it open holding the wrong handle. Didn't hurt a bit...but the bleeding was impressive. :o

I'll take some better pictures and put up a review over the weekend. I don't care about flipping for show, but I'm not sure this would be the best bali for that, but an awesome knife.
