I'll take Dangerous Freedom over Peaceful Slavery for 5000 Alex.

Advocating for removing Due Process, yeah that couldn't backfire in any possible way.

    100% this! Thank you.

Court ordered institution for people who haven't committed crimes goes against the basic idea of freedom in our society.

I'm willing to pay for that freedom. Clearly glocksandpatriots is not.

There were plenty of mass injury/killings committed before the 1970's, and 1950's for that matter.

Whitman in 1966 is the first to come to mind, and he had sought out medical/psychiatric help willingly.

That's because most people here have a childish libertarian view of liberty. One that would lead to no society.

If you take the position that we can't lock up dangerous people until after they've done something AND that we can't institute a police state that would restrict access to weapons (all, not just guns) you're saying that the occasional mass shooting, bombing, truck attack, and stabbing is a price you're willing to pay. I, and most Americans, disagree with you.

You don’t get it. Not at all.

Just a quick check online found about 30 mass killings, not including ones that could be considered "war related" before the mass release of mental patients.

    Several more things.

    1. Remember that when you use the word "you" in a post, you begin to address the person and not the topic.

    2. There is a site staff here. It is not the role of any member here to moderate or direct a conversation. If you believe that there is something worthy of moderation, then report it. However, it is not up to individual members to take it upon themselves to play moderator.

    3. Because you disagree with something does not make a violation of the forum rules and does not entitle you to heckle, needle or prod the person with whom you disagree. If cannot defend your position without doing so and without making it personal, you may need to examine your position.
