google is your friend, I am not.
I just bought a bunch of fishing stuff to get the season started, and it was not from Dicks.

truthfully, setting aside the 2A thing, they make it hard to spend money there anyway. Shopping online and shipping is a PITA. This is merely one more nail in their coffin.

I just went in with my $10 rewards certificate. I got 2 boxes of 12 GA buckshot for a total of $9.98. That got me 2 free boxes of ammo and will be the last time I shop there as long a they oppose the second amendment.

I shopped at Dickson only 1-2 times a year. Regardless of any boycott I feel there were/are many better, more competitive places to purchase guns, ammo and shooting supplies. Das macht nicht.

Need to buy one case (100) and one box of 20 gauge, two boxes of 16 gauge and 1 case of clay birds for the Scout Troop's shooting weekend coming up. I guess I'll go to Walmart unless someone's got a better idea of where to buy.

You better call Wallmart about the 16 ga. I haven't seen it at most stores. The do carry it at Easton and Denton, places where people tend to do more hunting but I have not seen it at Severn or Glen Burnie.

Primarily no, on principle. Definitely don’t like their decision. Hurts not just us, but they shot themselves in the foot as well. I’ve shopped there tons over the years, and I will miss the place for the most part. However, I’m not gonna lie, if there is something I need, and can’t get it from another source by the time I need it and without too much additional hardship to my already hectic life, then I’ll grudgingly go there to get it. For example, If I’m on a hunting trip and forgot to bring something, or need something else, I’ll Google search to see if there’s another option nearby, otherwise I’m not messing up my trip over this. Go ahead, think poorly of me if you must - I don’t really care. I’m not gonna deliberately inconvenience myself or put any undue stresses on my friends and family if I can avoid it. Don’t get me wrong, I won’t like the fact at all that I’m breaking the boycott, but I spend 1/2 of my life or more doing things I don’t like or don’t want to do, I’ll get over it.

Other posters made me laugh however, “right after I use my $10 rewards points I’ll never shop there again” (paraphrasing), and other similar sentiments. At least I’m honestly admitting that there’s a chance I could still buy there if pressed, without better options. I’m not selling my dignity for a ten spot, then digging in my heels. I can’t quite dig both of my heels in just yet, because I hate dealing in absolutes; you just don’t know what might happen in the future, not ever (uh, actually sounds like an absolute?? :innocent0), but I am definitely gonna try.

When Dicks stopped selling modern rifles, they still had a bunch in their inventory. What are they going to do with them? Destroy them, of course!

Their store, their rules, but still...:wtf:

    From the above linked article:

The so-called assault-style rifles will be destroyed at the company’s distribution centers and the parts sent to a salvage company to be recycled, the Findlay-based retailer added.

Yeah, so they strip the parts and "salvage" them. So who do these "salvaged" parts get sold too?

My hunch is that they are salvaging and recycling the raw materials (i.e. aluminum and steel...not sure about the plastic)...sold by the pound, not the part...to be sent off to China and be smelted down and remanufactured by slave labor in a "factory" with no polution controls to create crappy tools to sell to the Americans at ridiculous prices under the Craftsman name...

Just speculating... If I was going full L-tard, that's what I'd do to save the children AND the environment.:o

I will never set foot in their store again.

Except maybe to fill a cart to overflowing with items from all over the store then decide at checkout that I, upon considering their anti-gun position, don't want to buy after all, and walk away. OK, I would not do that but it makes me smile to think about it.

Picked up the ammo at Walmart in Fallston for this weekend's shooting and learn something new. According to the employee that helps you at the self checkout there's a new "State Law" that says you have to be 21 and show a drivers license to buy ammo. The employee entered my DOB into the check out computer screen before letting me pay.

I told the guy I didn't blame him but the "Law" (Store Policy) is bull shit.
