Makes no sense some people are receiving the accepted email before others that submitted their app before them.

Submitted mine 7/10 and it has not been accepted yet. Only received email that said your application has been submitted for review.

You sure it said accepted and not submitted for review?
"Your HGP application has been reviewed and the status changed to "Application Accepted." Your application is now awaiting assignment to a background investigator based on the order in which it was received."

I read yesterday they had pulled in 20 people from other agencies to help. Assumed it was that. Or maybe the less experienced folks are taking longer to review applications, have questions and so forth while my reviewers didn’t.

I dealt with bs paperwork anality in the Navy and sometimes ran into folks that loved kicking paperwork back for a minor discrepancy, so I took my time to double check and make sure all was correct before I submitted.

So they are assigning modifications and processing/approving modification applications for those that have already been issued permits based on good and substantial, but they are not assigning new applications to investigators……

So... I submitted app on 6/26.
    App accepted 6/30
I went to the print screen around the 7/4 and say in the top left corner there was NICS: and a space for date; both were blank.

On 7/8 I look at the print app screen and there is now a NICS ID number and a date of 7/8. I assume this means they are looking at it now? They have not contacted any of my references as of yet. And the system just shows the app as accepted on 6/30. That NICS check is only valid for 30 days I think. So we will see. By the way app number is 16xxx

I wish they would do like they did with the HQL years ago and show status of what they have done and when.

Maybe I should start looking at the print screen also. Thanks.

VERY interesting. Yes, NICS means they are looking at it. Was your app assigned to an investigator?

Also, when I got the HQL the status was irrelevant. It was incomplete for a while then filled in on the same day.

It never updated to assigned to investigator and never received an email stating so. Normally the NICS would be the last thing they do I would assume since it's got a time frame on it.

Date, no number. The date is the day I received the accepted email.

I think this is our first real breakthrough. Now everyone should go check their apps. Hopefully this means you'll be getting your permit within 30 days!

I won't hold my breath on this one. I was just passing along something I noticed. Now if this does infact pan out. It would be something I guess. Until they issue or it appears what they are doing and how they are doing it. It's happy waiting
