Looks like you’re getting two of them. There’s no NICS letter. CJIS does a look at your MD record after you get printed and forwards the prints to the FBI

The MSP also looks at NICS

My CJIS letter came in the mail a couple days after I was approved.

That's the permit number. Your number is the application number. Totally different.
