That's to make sure that they don't turn out to be stolen arms. Just like gold dealers are required to keep turned in gold on hand for 30 days.

It's kind of pointless, but I do understand it.

However, I would think state preemption moots this.

Old news and it has been discussed. Scott from Scotts Gunsmithing showed up to the hearings to try and get FFLs exempted.

    No dice.

    That's what I was thinking.

They are in trouble on this one and they know it. They've been playing games trying to avoid the issue.

For the record for any Leopold supporters, this is being pushed directly from his office.

...it ain't that far across the county line to Howard County.

The point being though that these things spread like a virus. It needs to be nipped in the bud or it will be statewide before you know it.

How can this possibly enforced?and who would the enforcement authority be?

AAPD is enforcing the regs. They will likely inspect shops in AACO just like BATFE and MDSP does already.

I dont know the penalty for non compliance but im sure the ATF would be happy to shut a MD Dealer down if they refused to comply. When you have an FFL you are REQUIRED to abide by ALL Federal, State and Local Laws that you do business with or within.

Good, maybe BATF will enforce the preemption law.
