Ok, so a coworker told me that at one time he had some hollow point ammo that actually had a blade inside of it. Is he mistaken or is there/was there such a thing? What would be the purpose of this?

I'm confused, are those the ones used to shoot down jet airliners, or the ones used to shoot locomotives clean off the railroad tracks?
I think the way they worked was you would shoot into the Jet, causing it to crash into the tracks derailing the oncoming train..
was he talking about hydroshok? not really a blade but a point..
