The way the ignore feature works is that another persons posts are hidden from you. So if I have “Bob69” on ignore, I can’t see his posts without clicking an unhide button.

I think a useful alternative feature would be the reverse of that, to make it so Bob69 can’t see my posts. I think that would encourage more civility in the forum. People might be more civil in their responses if they know they are at risk for losing access to your posts.

Just throwing this out there for the mods to consider if they haven’t already.

    I did get that.

But how would it make MDS more civil?

For users who actually add value to the forum (like yourself), it might be a big loss to me if I pissed you off and you forced me to ignore you. Therefore I would be more encouraged to be polite in our disagreements.

Or, we could all be adults and actually be civil.

The entire concept makes me wonder why i am here in the first place, we all have a built in ignore feature last i checked. Too many posts like this.

Instead of "Ignore List", I'd prefer a "Billy Batts List".

You just hit the button and the individual automatically sees this instead of any your posts.
