A couple of my cousins had a successful gator hunt in the Dog River, Mobile Alabama.

    Very cool!
So where are the good cuts of meat on a gator? I am assuming the tail and rear legs. Is there a tenderloin in the torso?

My Aunt used to cut the tail in 1/2" or 3/4" slices and pan fry it. The rest she would cut up and make gumbo. Those are the only ways I've ever eaten it. And it was good! They're best when about 5'-6'. Not sure how this mnster would taste?

In my younger days we used to go out at night and gig frogs and snapper turtles in the bayou. In Lake Cotiel, just North of Gardner, LA, we used to ski and dive and see monsters like the one your cousins caught. Somehow they never seemed to bother us.
