I also bought 1000rds the other week from sportsman guide but havent gotten a chance to hit the range yet. Bought mostly for plinking in a r700.

Less than $0.20 a round for up to 300yds (claimed at the website) and extremely minimal bore wear isn't bad. Certianly better than this i'll do a comparison with regular fmj ammo as well.

Interesting, I thought about this time to time. It will likely be the "ammo of the future" when they dont let us buy the good stuff anymore.

But if SB 420 Passes the house vote and then gets signed into law. Definitely DO NOT EVER USE NON LEAD BULLETS to commit a crime. As this will be made Illegal....

Here are my results from thursdays trip to the range. I am shooting a R700 in a AI chassis sending these plastic projectiles down range at 100yds

On the right is where the plastic round hit. There was little wind and it was 100+ that day. Normally the rifle is sub moa but the plastic ammo was more of a sub soft ball. The spread at 50 yards was about 2". Just to see a comparison after shooting the plastic ammo at 100yd I shot some Brass Full Metal Jacket Boat Tail. The left target is where brass ammo landed if aimed at the same spot the plastic was hitting. That was well to the left but the spread was a Quarter.

I did manage to hit a bulldog clip with the plastic ammo at 100yds and it had enough energy to puncture one side. I was expecting more of a airsoft bb reaction. Definitely do not want to get hit with this stuff.

    Now for the bad news.

Out of 35 rounds. 12 seconds between shots. 8 failed to fire. Every round that failed to fire also failed to eject. Even when i left the gun alone for several minutes the first shot was a FTF/FTE.

This may be mostly due to the climate as this ammo is from very cold weather places and it was over 100 degrees Thursday.

After the 8th failure I switched to brass and had zero problems. I'll try it again in the fall and hopefully that will have less failures. Aside from that the ammo was decent to shoot. A little more kick than a 22mag. I'll probably sell off half of them at cost in the market place as I do not see me shooting all 965 rounds that are left

Stuff is made for loose military cambers ( read fluted G3's). Not your tight a$$ Remmy. I have used it in bolt guns with the same results. But the only bolt that worked 99.9% was the Indian Enfield Rifle 2A. Watch Dan's and sturmgewehr.com as the ammo can be found at .08¢ from time to time.

Yea I figured as much but the product demo video at sportsman's guide was with a r700 as well. Had more of a infomercial effect for me.

Also remember, the case head is slightly smaller, so the extractor has less grip.
