Knock it off bashing the MSP, they are just doping their job and have been nothing but helpful to us this year. If you want bash someone, bash Senator Miller (his rule of no recording in the Senate), Bash Frosh and Dumais.

Leave the MSP alone as they are on our side and we need them to stay on our side when we are down there.

+ 1000! I spent many days and hours in Annapolis since February and the MSP have been polite, proffesional and helpful. Get a grip.

^ Agree. I talked to one of the MSP guys (his name was Larry, I believe) on multiple different occasions. He was nothing but helpful and sincere, and we talked quite a bit about how much we enjoy going to the range and having fun.

Larry is the SGT assigned full time to the Speaker of the House, and the MSP lead when the house is in session. Good guy and all around smart ass.

SGT White, is his equal on the Senate side and is full time assigned to the President of the Senate, and in the MSP lead when the Senate is in session. He too is an all around good guy, and can crack wise when needed.

haha you guys are sensitive. Nobody's bashing the police here. MVEE commented on how he thought the expression on the guy that kept giving me the stink-eye was funny. I agreed that yes, indeed, his expression is funny.

The police were there in the house, and I was allowed to take video. The police were there in the senate, and told me I was not able to take video. It's clearly not the police making rules, they just enforce them. Members here, me included, have regularly thanked the police and commended them on carrying chairs around and doing their best to make our lives comfortable.

If that guy has any sense of humor, he'd be laughing at his expression too. I'm amazed at what constitutes "cop bashing" around here.

Not sensitive at all, (you should know that), just looking out for the guys that looked out for us.

Got to say, the MSP was very cool with all of us, as was most of the Capitol Police. They were wishing us good luck as we were going in to testify, and several intimated (as much as they could while on duty) that they agreed with us on our stance. I made it a point to talk with them and thank them for putting up with us, each time I was there.

I think that the good impression we made with them may carry over to other troopers and police officers and do use some good in the long run.

I like the mutual respect granted to us by the guys at the door. Many would recognize me from earlier that day or earlier that week and tell me I didn't have to take off the belt or take off the keys and just head through. One younger guy in particular was EXCELLENT at finding chairs for anyone he saw sitting on the floor or standing in the overflow room. He'd come out with and armful and walk right over to the people with a chair for them.

Many, in confidence, voiced their support for our side. I did have a conversation with one that said he was largely neutral on the issue now that he's given his guns to his children. He said as long as he had his one handgun at home for defense, he would be alright and any criminal threatening him would be taken care of. The only one that was slightly weird was the one on the senate floor, and I'm sure he was getting marching orders from above after.....ahem....some interesting photos emerged after the last couple hearings.

So I just realized that a friend of mine just so happens to be Senator Simonaire's daughter. Go figure. Good thing we was on our side, or it might have caused some problems in our friendship. Haha.
