Ive barely been able to get out and look around yet. In the brief time all i found were some old leg bones.

Out for a quick walk tonight, bo horns yet, but I did find this. The wood is still damp. Ive seen several others in the area that seemed freshish, but none like this

Maybe a stag running a round there?

I've been looking but haven't found anything yet. JT found one small shed Saturday on a dirt road between fields.

I've been searching fields more broadly than trails for when deer are running and shed them. I feel like when they are forced to jump fences or run is when they drop them more often than when they are walking through brushed areas.

Anyone have a consensus on where they believe best spots to look? I only ever stumble upon them randomly.

Emerging wheat fields, bedding areas, field edges etc.

I think my deer are confused. The branches above this scrape were freshly torn up and there was another one about 10 ft to the right of this one.

Field edge 'community scrape'. They use them all year long. Don't confuse them with rutting scrapes.

    Changed zip code
Finally made it to the woods today. One was so fresh, it still had blood on the pedicle.
    Nice ones!
My guess is someone trying to knock a horn off?

I think thats whats going on because Ive noticed new rubs after rut and Im going with the theory that they are rubbing off their antlers...I have found 1 shed antler right in some brush where a fresh rub was but none elsewhere nearby.
