Great had my pre October 1 purchases mapped out but thanks to you guys I feel I left one out. Plenty of beautiful guns on this thread. I Have a couple of sigs I carry for work. Feel like I need a new toy and Have to get a 1911 now. Any recommendations for anything around $1000 hopefully no more than $1500?

Just purchased my first 1911 (the Sig Nightmare a few posts above). I love it already. The world is pretty much your oyster at that price range. Personally I like Sig firearms so that is what I bought. Everybody has their preferences though. If you want to start low-end on 1911s the Taurus PT1911 (around 500-600) seems to get good reviews. I can vouch for my Sig. I'm sure plenty of others will tout Colt, Springfield, Kimber, etc.

Thanks Mikey. Love the nightmare, was looking for one today. Found a custom Baer (used) and it was sick! It was over $1800 tho. Have to check into them and see if its a decent deal. I'm going hunting for something tomorrow. If I see the sig ill probably go that rout if not I may go get the Baer???
