    Very nice!

Thank You, feels good to have this one done and out of the way. VERY soft shooter.

target pics or it didn't happen. :innocent0

I didn't take any pics for the shakedown run, which is good - because my shooting was atrocious today. :o

I left MG just after Yogi showed up. :innocent0

    That's real nice Brad.

Thank You Chad, only thing left to do is to pin the block (I ran out of pins...), I did rocksett the set-screws, but still plan on pinning it.

Put about 60 rounds thru it today, mix of SS109, Wolf 62gr fmj, and some Nosler 69gr Cust. Comp. handloads. Ran everything without a hitch, shoots soft as hell.

It'll look a little better after I replace the backup scope.

Why I keep thinking that backup will work in a pinch is beyond me...

    Backup scope, replaced.

Guess I'll have to set the press back up for .223 at some point and work up some hand-loads.

**It isn't the Primary Arms 4-14 FFP, but the BSA version with the half mil/mil hashes.

You put a BSA scope on a real firearm? ;)

    Heh, yep. :o

Although to be fair, this specific model is far from the BSA's many of us have come to known and "love".

It was in stock, it's price is right, and it'll do the job until I feel the need to drop some real coin on a nicer optic.

About 300 rounds in, came across my first issue. Broke it down for cleaning, and found the brand new buffer I'd installed looking like this -

    11060846_10207776412997702_5116565273653994783_n.jpg

A thorough check of things, found just a few very minor burrs/ridges on the tail of the BCG -

    11954601_10207776413397712_382813754118560668_n.jpg

    11924296_10207776413117705_4767438964214574466_n.jpg

Not very large, but just enough to ever so slightly catch my fingernail.

So, a little bit of time and effort went into de-burring and polishing the tail of the BCG. Nothing too crazy, but enough to where it's as smooth as Chad's hands. ;)

***Not my best work admittedly, but for what I have here at the house - ain't too shabby.

Some may ask why I bothered to clean up the face of the affected buffer. Simple answer.

I originally tested the rifle with a standard action spring and T2 buffer, it cycled fine but wouldn't lock the bolt on an empty mag - even with the adj. gas all the way open. So it got swapped out to a standard weight carbine buffer, took the gas down 3 clicks and it ran like clockwork. And I didn't have any spare standard carbine buffers to replace it with, so it got cleaned up.

You don't think the buffer might be bottoming out too hard(not trying to sound like a smart a$$)?

    No worries.

Hit the tail with 15 coats of cold blue, looks like it was never worked on.

Still need to work up some more handloads, it showed promise even with Perfecta 55gr fmj, but I need to replace the broken shell carrier and work up a proper batch for this rifle.

    Fvck me sideways.

Went to pin the block, and my bit is as dull as dishwater. Annoying.

#21 bits are easy to come by. :)

For those curious, I can confirm the sucker shoots.

Then again, we just had a damn good day on saturday didn't we?

Even Dan's 16" Black Hole barrel was hitting the 300-yard steel with a cheapo BSA red dot....

He grinned like a bastard all the way home too....although the half-price cherry limeades might have helped in that regard.

Yeah, they are. Just didn't expect it to dull as quick as it did.

Saturday was a good day, wind at the back. Everything just seemed to shoot well, the .260 almost gets boring being so predictable. 1.2 mils, POA/POI at 300.

Dan's did well after a quick run-in, 300 he was maintaining COM on the silhouette.

Did you guys catch up to the Blonde in the white A4 Avant? Definitely was easy on the eyes.

saw her, but locked the windows. dan had some questions he wanted to ask. i did not want to answer a police officer's questions later, however. :lol2:

the ar-308 and mk12 were equally boring after a while. i have some 168 NBTs on the way from the internet, to whip together a deer hunting load. Shouldn't need many; most of my hunting will be done against hogs with the blackout suppressed. :)
