I'm trying to disassemble a Mossberg 500Ab. Everything has gone smoothly except the slide mechanism will not come out. When it gets near the end, it feels like it is pushing up against something. I've looked and it's not hitting anything but it has a spongy feel like there's something there. I know how to normally disassemble a 500 but this has me stymied. And yes, I've tried to pull down on the slides and tried to squeeze the slide slightly to ease them out. No go. Any ideas?? Thanks

DOH!! Figured it out. The Mossberg 500AB, when you disassemble it MUST have the magazine tube removed to get the slide off. Duh. You don't have to do that on a regular model 500. I think it's because the magazine shell plug (the part on the end of the spring) is separate and during reassembly, it needs to be put into the gun, then the slide goes on and then the magazine tube is screwed back in. Lesson learned and filed into memory.
