things that weren't "on the agenda" last year:
    -ballistics fingerprinting repeal
    -shall issue retired police credentials
-removing sbr's from having to be on the roster, shooting a hole right through the middle of the fsa2013 rifle ban

yet all of those passed in a matter of hours without nary a peep from us. when hours count and dems need votes they are willing to wheel and deal.

Most people around here have already put that idea to rest... Many of us have stated that he did not run as a Pro 2A gov candidate. In fact he did say he was not looking to change any gun laws in the state. So why folks keep demanding that he either does so or he is anti gun, is a damn mystery.

"Change no gun laws"... is a WIN for us right now because that will be the first time in a long time that we did not LOSE GROUND. Folks need to stop staring at their empty holster for a minute and start thanking him that we don't have an empty safe. We have time to get things adjusted... Electing Hogan has bought us four more years to build to that. What we end up with is going to depend on the choices we make.

    We do have a choice,

    1) Support him and work for the future... Help him get his agenda through the house... Fix the gerrymandering débâcle... Increase our strength in Maryland politics. Work to a position where we can change the State...

    Or

    2) Throw a hissy fit because he is being true to his word, toss in the towel and in three years... Welcome the Brownstain back to the Stalag of PRoMD.

So you want a personal hand out? Or a group rate? How about we just pool our resources and litigate.. Just like we have allways done.

I've not asked anyone for a handout. You don't know my situation and I don't feel inclined to explain it to you. As I said, SAF took on Wollard. Why can't SAF give it a second shot with a few hundred Plaintiffs?

You voted for Brown? Sad......... :( Very sad............ :( You deserve a dunce hat and an extended time out in the corner.

Oh you want him to act like Obama?

Let's hope he has more respect for the rule of law than our current POTUS has.

Remember, Hogan was a virtual unknown political figure. He should act like a Governor who is pro 2A and take a stand on it. Up until now he is Bob Erlich.

Realistically, I wouldn't expect SAF to take another case here in Maryland unless there were a lot of Plaintiffs.

    ar...

Before I take leave of you, I feel a need to paraphrase Ronald Reagan...

The trouble with some of our so-called friends is not that they're ignorant; it's just that they know so much that isn't true.

Nothing I've said isn't true. I get it. You want MSI to be the reason CCW for all but it ain't going to happen regardless of who is Governor. The G&S law needs to be changed and we have a better chance in the courts then we do elsewise. I get it though. MSI MSI. I've lurked here for years and have heard the rhetoric. If MSI is so powerful why is there an AWB, HQL, and no CCW for all?

PS, I know all about the backroon this and hush hush that and we are doing things quietly in the background. None of that prevented AWB, HQL and we still are May Issue.

    OK...

    I'll give you one more.

Nearly everything you are demanding and complaining about IS happening, to varying degrees.

It may not be to your taste, and I understand that. But to declare things aren't working is somewhere between unaware and willingly obtuse.

MSI isn't the end-all-be-all... but we (along with the other .orgs... relationships I'm happy to have helped with) have stopped the vast majority of the bleeding from 50 years of Progressive rule.

But it takes time. It takes money--a LOT of it. But most of all it takes skin in the game, feet in the halls of the GA, and hands on the loom.

The reason we are becoming successful are three things I heard repeatedly yesterday...

    Foundation
    Baby-steps
    Deliberate

It's gotten us the smart gains to date. Funny thing, these words were also applied to how Hogan is approaching his job.

Knee-jerk responses, rash actions, and hot heads will kill this.

    That is all... Good Day

Psssstt....hey hey...psssstt listen...I'm going to whisper in your ear......

"The makup of the legislature is the prime/sole/exact reason we are still a F'd up state vis-a-vis 2A. There is not ANY single organization that can be blamed for lack of speedy movement toward shall issue"

You want to place blame? I suggest you call our fine AG.

Maryland laws and politics and dismal business and civil rights climate did not get to O'Malleys socialist utopia overnight. It took decades and the repeated compromise by moderate Democrats in the GA.

You cannot turn that around with 2 years of a Republican Governor and a Republican minority in the GA.

It is going to take time. It is going to take a lot of effort and some very careful "agenda" items to keep a Republican as Governor and to replace more anti-2A Democrats in the GA with Pro-2A Senators and Delegates from either party in future elections.

I think it is worth noting that the voters increased the number of Republicans in the MD Senate and House of Delegates last election.

I suggest we take the energy spent on bashing Hogan's apparent lack of an in your face pro-2A agenda and take a lesson from the Progressive playbook...Incrementalism. Win small in increments and over time you will win big. With the overwhelming anti-2A odds in the GA today we can't just kick the door in after one big Republican upset in the Governorship. We have to fight this battle the same way the progressives won it over the last several decades… Incrementally.

They did not cry and give up and self- implode, or cannibalize each year when their bills did not pass, they took notes, worked the other 9 months of the year on the "moderate" Senators and Delegates, refined their bills, took smaller victories to build up to the big win and after years and years they won over the GA with their Progressive agenda.

We are not going to win back Maryland overnight or even in the span of one governor’s term but if we want to attack every conservative and moderate politician that is no 110% for a single issue, even one as important as the 2A then we are committing suicide.

We have to continue wise up and work smartly about this. Just because we hate our opponent does not mean we have to hate all of his tactics, if he kicked our butt with those tactics then maybe we should respect those tactics and adjust our game.

Of course the legislature and AG are why we are where we are. The great thing about an unconstitutional law is it will remain a law until challenged and overturn in court. But until then it stays the law. How awesome is it that there is no reason to stop creating more unconstitutional laws if you are not willing to contest existing unconstitutional laws. This is my final word on the subject cause while we take baby steps they take giant leaps.
