    Holding Ground...marylands new gun motto

There is something called reality. If we don't replace people in the General Assembly like they are getting done in Colorado, what is the chance of rolling any of this back. Heck, if we don't replace anybody in the General Assembly, forget about holding ground because we will be sending the message that gun control is just fine with us as a state.

The only issue I have with removing people from office in 2014 is that it will not be crystal clear why they are losing. So much crap was passed this last session that almost anybody leaning toward the conservative side would be irate over some issue. Don't know if kicking some of the incumbents out would send the message that it was over SB281 or the myriad of BS that was passed.

Should have a delegate or senator propose a constitutional amendment to the Maryland constitution so that we can have recall elections after something like SB281 is passed.

Why push for more 2A infringement now? It doesn't make political sense. They saw how energized the 2A crowd got this past session. It takes some time to get a movement structured and mobilized. The reason for the energy on the pro-2A side of the fight is because of sb281. If they come out and say they're done for now and don't really do much of anything this session, they'll pretty much suck the fire out of the bellies of most marylanders. Once things die down enough, they can make their next change in the laws.

People were pissed when the integral gun-lock requirment passed, when older drafts of AWB's were being pushed in years past, and when the old training card was pushed through....but then time went by and people accepted it as the new normal. Flash back 4 years ago and your typical gun-bill day in annapolis had dwindled down to 30 people testifying or so from a few hundred the last time they pushed 2A infringment through.

After this last session, the pro 2A side now has structure in MSI and the NRA coming back in to the state. We have numbers and an energetic base. Probably the best thing to happen to md gun rights would be if they go ape-**** next session and pass something that we can plainly destroy in the court system(even with obama-appointed judges shredding the constitution at the federal level every day). The wisest thing their side can do now is nothing. No pro 2A bill will get out of the desk drawers for a vote on the floor, and facing no real progress the pro2A support will dwindle and fade away. When our side weakens enough, they can push again to permanently change the laws.

It's a long-term foot in the door technique like what is used for everything. You can be fined for talking on the phone when driving...but don't worry, it's a secondary offense. People are upset, but get over it and opposition dies down. ...okay, now you CAN be pulled over and fined JUST for talking on a phone while driving. It's how things go. They know how far to push to get their way with no REAL uncivil opposition. They got damned close to many people's red-line this past session, but didn't really break through to open rebellion. They'll cool it a bit, take steam out of our side and then attack again when prudent.

It's why now is the most important time to recruit more people for our fight. It's why now is the most important time to support MSI, SAF, and NRA-ILA. We saw firsthand how little regard officials in annapolis have for our voices. Predators only respect power. We were fighting a battle that was already lost in the past election cycles this past session.

Moving forward, elections are critical to gaining ground. Seats ARE vulnerable in many areas that were once locked-in. Project DINO is a smart strategy. We need to start bumping anti-2A politicians and electing pro-2A politicians. In the past, even as small a number as 30 votes made the difference between an anti-2A politician getting the go-ahead and a pro-2A politician. Imagine what would happen if just one of our side would have stood at a street corner with a sign, or handed out pamphlets in a public space. They could have easily switched 15 voters, or at least energized some 2A voters to make it to the polls instead of stay home.

Yeah, I believe Frosh is telling the truth. I don't believe he's backing off 2A issues because he feels enough has been done, I believe he's backing off because he's aware of the sleeping lion he's poking. He's a weasel and historically our side has fizzled out after a session or two of inaction. Let's ruin his plans and push harder than ever in this "offseason" he's planning on creating.

you know what WOULD send a message, a "vote 2A today" day. Everyone wear your gun clothes and hats to the polls. Where allowed, hold up signs that make it clear we're coming after those responsible for 281. It'd be hard to ignore when those pictures start popping up. Now it's about marketing and becoming visible in the world of everyday marylanders.

We need to affect the elections. NEED to.

Yes, this is a must. I'm all in!

    Believe...
We need to push smart, hard, and not yield. 10K or more from all over the state on 4Feb, and continual communication starting NOW!

Even if we don't break them this year (which we were inches from doing last year), they will know they were in a fight.

Then, we make sure they answer for their votes.

Remember, there are several power-brokers in the GA who will be running for other offices in '14, and leave openings for us to push 'friendlies' into those spots.

This. We can get them in the primaries, the DINO strategy will work if enough of us do it.

Yep. At the national level, some of them boast that the NRA are given too much credit. Lets let them know that here in Maryland, you can't trounce on the Constitution and turn your back on what's right and get away with it.

My District is very conservative, I plan to spend most of my time and energy helping in other districts. We need to identify those most vulnerable bums that voted for sb281, and hold rallies, recruit, get the vote out in the primaries (D) there.

That is a fine idea. Might have to make up a few (or a few thousand) I Vote 2A stickers to pass out at the 2/4/14 rally in Annapolis.

If there are more high profile gun crimes there will be more high profile gun bills.

Plan D? Not worth the hassle.
If there isn't a PUSH the other way then I'm going to be very disappointed.

Simply "holding ground" isn't gonna cut it (at all).

Get 100k to lawyers mall on 4 FEB 2014.

Thats the raise. 10k is just to call and stay in the game.

Got another shop pushing Flyers just yesterday..

10k in Lawyers mall 4 FEB 2014. 20k would be better.

Don't want to disappoint anyone. ;)

If Frosch is telling the truth then I think it would be for two reasons:

    1. He's running for AG and as others have pointed out he needs more votes than just his socialist rich district in MoCo can provide. He needs votes from Western MD and from the Eastern Shore, and by pushing for anti-2A legislation in an election year he doesn't help his cause.

    2. He knows there are a lot of people who voted for 281 (or in two cases voted against it but voted for cloture) and they're vulnerable. He doesn't want a big 2A food fight headed into a DINO primary and a general election in the purple districts. He (correctly) knows that the memory of the electorate is short ... but so will be the timing after this next GA session.

But as Brooklyn said above, it doesn't really matter whether he's lying or not. We fight our fight on our terms. Prep for the DINO battles. Turn out on 2/4/14. Start spreading the word now and organizing - those things really aren't that far away...

What he meant to say was: There will be no anti-gun agenda in 2014 due to the election cycle. What he failed to mention is that 2015 is another story entirely. I predict we'll see a lot of off-year, gun and ammo grabbing well into the future.

Can't wait to hear the voter turn-out statistics after the election takes place. A low Republican/Pro-Gun turn out will be the green light for the Libtards to stick it to us every chance they get.

If we can't affect change after all the anger SB281 has generated this past year, we are toast going forward. They will chew us up and spit us out. Only time will tell.

PS: My 2015 prediction is a huge attack on the amount of ammunition a person may own and store. Reloading powders and components will come under attack too.

Best Holiday Wishes to all. Go DINO!!!

I say more than likely those frickin' libtards will push for more, be it election year or not. Are they that fvckin' stupid to think most people they pissed off with their rain tax and SB281 have forgotten about those two "next to meaningless little things"???

Which is why we should attack his position. Let him back away from SB281 or defend it in Western Maryland. Put him on the spot - ask him what he's going to do to preserve the right to self-defense.

I never met a politician I could believe.

That's the easy way out. The fact is we have a number of very decent, hard-working state delegates and senators. I can trust Smigiel, Jacobs, Aumann, and Szliga, to name a few. In fact, I can trust Dwyer. We are all flawed, and he may reveal his more readily than some, but I would say that I trust him.

If you really feel that way, come to Annapolis in January. I will also say that I trust Morhaim, even though he voted against us at every turn.
