Thanks Mack and DL for the clarification.
Limited intelligence.
A task force is assembled to address the amount of violence of which the police cannot stop and the appointed members ask “Why not rely on the police?”. Am I missing something here lol. No offense to LEOs meant.
Why make committee rules when committee members are above the law /rules. They are running this like the mueller investigation hahaha.
Iris Krasnow, good writer for the Capital, board member of a national anti-gun group, hasn't made a meeting in months.
You think she is a good writer?
I've been to about half of the meetings and haven't seen a single presentation that is of sufficient quality to put into a report. The sheriff's office (or county police) put out some data that was incomplete, but it was data.
I know of one reason to be so lazy:
The "report" is already written.
ft. Baltimore City Mayor Jack Young and Anne Arundel County Executive Steuart Pittman. The podcast opens with a first-hand recounting of how the lauded deal to save Baltimore's Pimlico race track and the Preakness Stakes came together (2:00). Discussion of the deal and its benefits to both Baltimore City and Anne Arundel lead to a conversation about the importance of regionalism in government (11:00), as well as Jack and Steuart's outlook on consummating the deal during the 2020 legislative session (13:30). Arinze steers the conversation towards Steuart's organizing background on the West and South sides of Chicago before he decided to run for County Executive (15:00), and Jack talks about the family he's lost to gun violence and how it has shaped his career in public service (19:00). Jack and Steuart then tackle the two facets of American gun violence-- handgun violence in urban centers and mass shootings in suburban areas (25:25). Arinze asks about both men's inclusionary housing policies (32:40) before the discussion turns to the Kirwan Commission recommendations and the future of education in Baltimore City and Anne Arundel County (35:20). The conversation wraps with each executive's prescription for enacting change within their jurisdiction (41:30) and Jack closes with an inspirational story about starting out as a sanitation worker and rising to become Mayor (47:00).
Not to worry. County Executive Pittman has provided resources to guarantee that a report will be delivered to his office. Jen Purcell, Pittman's Chief of Staff has been assisting Bishop Carroll in his leadership role. Roz Hamlett, Pittman's Director of Multimedia Communications, is assisting with compilation of the report. Pittman's Deputy Chief of Staff, Kristy Alvarez, appears to be documenting the Task Force efforts and is participating in other support roles.
So, while it might appear at first glance that members of Pittman's office are writing the report that the Task Force will be submitting back to Pittman's office, I'm certain that's not the case. There is no conflict of interest, and the final output will be the Task Force's original work. Nothing to see here except citizen involvement in the legislative process. Move along, prole.
In related news, Mr. Pittman is sending County employees to Virginia to meet with government officials to discuss gun control.
This is my shocked face.
Where did you see this? Who is talking to whom?
Sheesh, Pittman really is a leftist turd with delusions of grandeur. I suppose he'll announce a foreign policy next.
