    If I didn't know better, I would say that the MGA just passed the Pandora's Box of Laws and I predict there will be a rash of highly unpleasant confrontations starting 1 Oct 2018, none of which would have ever occurred without the law. I swear they keep pushing and pushing and pushing and pushing just waiting for someone to finally break and all hell breaks loose with them. I just cannot believe they are that stupid, it seems way to purposeful.

    I Pray for our Country and I weep for my State for I fear it is a lost cause.

    These are the boxes LEO needs to check to get an ERPO:
    <snip>

    Those appear to be the optional items under 5-602 (1) (A) (vi) "Include any supporting documents or information regarding:"

    Sec. (1) (A) (i) indicates:
    A PETITION FOR AN EXTREME RISK PROTECTIVE ORDER SHALL:
    (i) BE SIGNED AND SWORN TO BY THE PETITIONER UNDER THE PENALTY OF PERJURY;
    (ii) INCLUDE ANY INFORMATION KNOWN TO THE PETITIONER THAT THE RESPONDENT POSES AN IMMEDIATE AND PRESENT DANGER OF CAUSING PERSONAL INJURY TO THE RESPONDENT, THE PETITIONER, OR ANOTHER BY POSSESSING A FIREARM;
    (iii) SET FORTH SPECIFIC FACTS IN SUPPORT OF THE INFORMATION DESCRIBED IN ITEM (II) OF THIS PARAGRAPH;
    (iv) EXPLAIN THE BASIS FOR THE PETITIONER’S KNOWLEDGE OF THE SUPPORTING FACTS, INCLUDING A DESCRIPTION OF THE BEHAVIOR AND STATEMENTS OF THE RESPONDENT OR ANY OTHER INFORMATION THAT LED THE PETITIONER TO BELIEVE THAT THE RESPONDENT PRESENTS AN IMMEDIATE AND PRESENT DANGER OF CAUSING PERSONAL INJURY TO THE RESPONDENT OR OTHERS;
    (v) DESCRIBE THE NUMBER, TYPES, AND LOCATION OF ANY KNOWN FIREARMS BELIEVED TO BE POSSESSED BY THE RESPONDENT; AND
    (vi) Include any supporting documents or information regarding:
    <above list>

    My son was amused when Dumais was confronted with "So, a petitioner could lie about a threat" and she responded "No, the petitioner will sign a sworn statement under penalty of perjury."
    "But, what if he lies?"
    "He's signing a sworn statement under penalty of perjury."

    It was like watching Abbott and Costello, only without "the funny."

    Dumais is a divorce attorney. She knows from years of professional experience that people never lie under oath in order to get what they want. :sarcasm:

    ...Does this mean that they can't think for themselves and they need a group or groups to tell them how to vote?

    Apparently so, the Legislatures voted without even reading the contents of HB 1302.................

    The next thirty days is the time period to force Miller and company to defend the Bill's content and make their case to the public that HB 1302 is fair, won't be abused, and constitutional. Additionally, forcing such a defense would allow time for the Legislature to actually read HB 1302 and to initiate a judicial review that will document the atrocities within.

    At what point do we begin to let the neighbors of these lawmakers know what these senators and delegates think of constitutional rights? When do we let the patrons of their businesses know how they vote away their rights in Annapolis?

    Does anyone of know of a list of businesses owned by MGA members? I know it can be compiled via Google but not looking to recreate the wheel...

    Sent my 3rd request for a veto, today. Watching the delegates vote for a bill they didn't get to read was quite the experience. The fact that the majority of them didn't seem to care spoke volumes.

    Now that they've passed it, they can see what's in it. A fine Maryland tradition.

    Yes, Mark Pennak, our MSI President, burned the lamp into the late hours of the night to provide all of us with the counter-arguments to face off against the Infringement Machine. He was also in Annapolis for the seemingly endless hearings and work sessions to point out the legal tricks & traps, and to keep us up to date.

    He was central to the Resistance, and we will continue to be very lucky that he is with us for the long haul.

    The fact that the Maryland Legislature voted for an UNLAWFUL STATUTE--and without even having the decency to have the corrupt language in front of them at voting time is a stain on this state.

    Yes and amen.
    Thank you R&R as well for your tireless effort.

    The loss was particularly stinging because I felt like it wasn’t fair. I don’t say that’s lightly because I’m not someone who goes around whining about fairness. What they did though was wrong.
