Have to hit the DMV tomorrow and will get my OFFICIAL MD DL. I was fighting it but I give up. After that I am going to get my fishing and hunting permits. Anything special I need to know about getting them? I know in FL I had to get special permit for lobster.

Hunting license you need a hunter safety certificate unless you were born before 01 Aug 1977. Fishing license you just buy online and you used to have to do the National Saltwater Registration yourself but now it is incorporated into buying your license. Also you will need a boaters license if you intend to captain a boat. Tidal (saltwater) and non-tidal (fresh/brackish water mostly) are separate licenses in MD and most rivers have dividing lines between tidal and non tidal you can look up online. Trout stamps are extra and migratory game birds are a whole different story. PM me if you want duck/geese info or have questions.

Hunter safety is required unless you held a hunting license prior to July 1, 1977. It is not birthdate dependent.

Appears you are correct. Did it change or have I always just read it wrong?
It's always been that way.. you had to have held a license or hunted private land prior to 1977 to be exempted from the Hunter Safety requirement. ;)

Last weekend I caught a 12" bass and a blue gill down in Va. This past weekend I caught 15 white perch in about an hour and half. 5 doubles and 5 singles.

Took some buddies out on the boat Friday a.m. for Rockfish. Had our three man limit and lines reeled up by 9. Fish between 38" and 41". Lost a double hook-up on a tandem rig.

Went out on MDS member ChrisD's boat last Wednesday. https://www.mdshooters.com/member.php?u=21875
Took son in law and 2 grandsons.
Since the storms last weekend no one was sure where the fish were so we headed South from Chesapeake Beach to Calvert Cliffs Power Plant.
Took awhile to find some and for them to start biting but it was worth it :D

Nice fish Tom. I was out on Saturday and there weren't fish anywhere in the area. Talked to 10 different charter captains and they had 3 fish between them all. Glad to hear it was better down south.
