      Remington 770s?

I have a 770. It's my first bolt-action, though it was a gift, not purchased by me. I wanted a 700, but I got the 770 instead. I'm still a novice shooter, but I have handled a 700 before, and it is definitely smoother than the 770. The 770's bolt is looser and wobbles more when being worked...

      Why gloves

Gloves give me the psychological edge from the impression that I'm a skilled shooter. ;) In all seriousness, I wear them in cold weather, and in the heat, I suppose they would improve grip from sweaty palms and avoid potential burns from hot barrels. But part of it is that it just looks cool...

      Will Cresap be open tomorrow?

Thanks for the info guys. Just got back from Cresap. Plant Rd is completely fine. Not too crowded or cold out there either.

      Will Cresap be open tomorrow?

Considering the snow we just got, I suppose the OP's question is relevant again. I don't think the roads are too bad, but any one know if Cresap will be open or closed tomorrow? I have a new rifle I was looking forward to shooting... Also, a 2nd random question: Are you allowed to have more...

      ♠ RimFire PoRn ♠

Hey guys, I know I've already posted photos of my Mossberg 702 in this thread, but I just gave it a new paint job. This is my attempt at digital urban camouflage. I used hand cut vinyl stencils (using graph paper as a guide). It's not perfect compared to "real" digital camo, and I can...

So far, I don't think I'm doing my part yet! :lol2: I'm still a novice bench shooter, and I'm still getting the scope adjusted, especially after it came loose on me last range trip. Going to have to sight it in all over again, but I'm having fun with it and I couldn't ask for much more...

      Cresap Shooting - Jan 15

Though I haven't been to many other ranges in the areas, I've found Cresap to be plenty convenient for me in terms of distance away from home and cost. I can live with it being crowded from time to time. I wont be able to make it out this Sunday, though I need to soon to re-sight after my...

      Cresap Shooting - Jan 15

Oops, yes the title of the thread indeed sounds like someone got hurt. Thankfully, not the case! Bobby, I remember seeing you too. Nice gun! :) I haven't been to IWLA, but so far I'm happy with Cresap. Not far away from home and the price is right, even if it can be a little crowded. It...

      Cresap Shooting - Jan 15

Cresap Shooting Day- Jan 15 Went out shooting at Cresap yesterday with some friends who are relatively new to shooting. We only shot my Mossberg 702, but it was still a lot of fun; ended up shooting an entire box of Federal value pack ammo between us. Thanks again to Cresap for another good...

      Shooting Clays at Night

I'm pretty new here (long time reader), but I thought I'd chime in. I went night shooting for the first time a few weeks ago at the Tuscarora Gun Club. They're open to the public on Wednesday evenings. In the winter, it's obviously dark by then. It was quite fun and a nice change of pace from...

      Mossberg 702 in Carbon Fiber

Thanks for the replies guys. Ethan, I have been looking around at other rifles also. I enjoy doing research on things I intend to buy, so I know I should be satisfied enough when I make a purchase. The CF finish is what drew me to the 702, otherwise my local Walmart and Dick's in Gaithersburg...

      Mossberg 702 in Carbon Fiber

Hi everyone, I just got into shooting about a year ago, so I'm pretty new to all this. Primarily, I've been trap shooting, but I've been interested in getting a .22LR rifle. Anyway, while looking at different rifles, I came across the Mossberg 702 Plinskter, and saw that it comes in a...
