Is it necessary to pattern a shotgun at HD distances? I've got a new Mossberg 500, cylinder bore with a 18.5" barrel. I didn't realize that indoor ranges do not permit shot, and MoCo has no ranges nearby that do. I'm also not too keen on learning to shoot it with the heavy recoil of slugs.
Clergy rally for gun safety at Bethesda church
They believe in their own hyperbole, and the Gazette published it unchallenged. Their ignorance could only be maintained by completely disengaging from reality, they are operating in an echo chamber where gun owners don't exist and don't need to...
National Cathedral to host vigil on one-year anniversary of Sandy Hook shootings
The National Cathedral has become the religious wing of the capital region's political left. They have made gun bans a mission, and they sell it as a religious cause.

Will O'Malley announce that his personal security detail will carry 10 round mags to demonstrate his commitment to gun safety? I wish the hypocrisy angle had gotten more attention in this debate.

This needs to be countered. It would be great if the NRA could sponsor another poll that first informed people that criminals are already prohibited from purchasing guns.
Edit: The question didn't inform people of the $100 fee, or what the current requirements are.
How about asking our legislators to lead by example? If they won't accept protection from 10 round magazines and restricted rifles, then they shouldn't be asking the same of the people. I'm sure the police who patrol state buildings will be willing to demonstrate how unnecessary those high...
