Look at what came in the mail today:
Size comparison with the MUT and RAT1:
It is used, so it has some slight wear and absolutely no edge, but I got it for a good price considering it came with a carbon fiber scale (which I plan to sell.) I don't have a sharpener that would do...
The thumb studs aren't used as a stop bar so I don't see why they are needed in a flipper, I also am leary of Kershaw assisted opening (maybe mine was an isolated case) since my cryo broke (the torsion bar went hooey) after only two months use.
http://emersonknives.com/about-us/our-guarantee/ Emerson will sharpen it for $19 plus shipping. Chisel Grinds are a pain in general and I'm not a fan of them unless it's on an actual chisel. Especially because Emerson does not make chisel ground blades for food prep it seems to negate any...
Ontario Rat 1 (or 2 if you prefer something smaller)
Do you carry a multitool? Lately I've just used the blade on my mt for my edc stuff (I do not use it for food prep though.)
As far as legality goes any folding knife in MD is legal to carry (concealed or open) as long as it isn't an auto...
Update on the Cryo: the torsion bar on my Cryo messed up and ruined the detent along with the assisted opening. It's a real shame, I liked a lot of things about this cool little knife, but I'm gonna have to caution people against getting it.
I too have an interest in this rifle, unfortunately, due to expense/lack of knowledge/interest not many get it. However, from what I've read online and watched on youtube (sue me) it seems like a pretty spectacular rifle.
As long as the length of the barrel exceeds 16 inches it is legal. If you have a 14.5 inch barrel you must have a flash-hider/muzzle-brake that makes up for the difference in length and it must be permanently attached to the barrel for it to be a standard long rifle. The gas system length does...
Size of Handle? 4.5"
Length of Blade? 3.75"
Blade Steel? Infi :D (I've always wanted to see a folder made by Busse using infi steel, to my knowledge there isn't one so far)
Blade Locking Mechanism? Axis lock with a safety (ie barrage 580) along with an additional liner lock inside, this would...
I'm used to Aus8 as opposed to 8cr13mov, so far I think they're pretty much the same. As for 440c I don't really use any knives with it (I do have two "44o" steel knives, but I'm pretty sure they are of less quality than 440c.) This knife won't see a lot of hard use given that I carry it along...
I've been carrying a RAT 1 for about a year now and I love it. It is a little thick, and you don't get a lot of blade for the weight/length ratio, but what you do get is a solid little tank of a liner lock with an incredibly smooth action and easily cleanable pillar construction (a very...
:war: How dare you insult the precious!
I actually don't care for the sks and would much rather have a mini 30 or a VZ 58. However, my sks is pretty decent (if the previous owner hadn't been an idiot it would be a great sks) with a good barrel on it.
FDE is not a MD friendly color, while it looks cool it is just impractical for our vegetation and cities. Foliage is good, if you can get a duracoat woodland camo job that'd be good.
I don't have to pay bills with my current living situation so I can't get a driver's license. The other way to obtain residency is to live here for a full 12 months. I'll be working for the .gov come this November and moving out of here a month and a half before that so I'll only have lived in...
