      So frustrated

Still waiting to go shooting. If my brother can't go today, I'm gonna go to On Target tomorrow. Anyone shoot there? If so, what's the best time for a novice to go? I'd like to have as few distractions as possible for this will be the first time I've fired this gun.

      Waiting, waiting

I have become obsessed with my new handgun. I mean, I'm so excited about picking it up that waiting for the paperwork to process is making me nuts. Who in the world would have thought a 62 year old granny would be so stoked!? It's only been a week, so its early, I'm sure. Hopefully...

      Luger Question

Really, not a Ruger this time. While at the gun show yesterday, I came across a Luger holster. My brother told me this and I was wondering if its true: He said that the Luger was the handgun that was issued to the German soldiers during WWII. He told me that when the guns were taken off of...

Welcome to all of the newbies

Since I'm also very new, I was totally surprised to see so many new members joining daily. I can't keep up with you! Went to the firing range today

I must say, it was fun and not at all intimidating. I really expected to be nervous. Turns out, I did just fine. My brother brought a semi automatic S&W, Ruger 6 service revolver and a target pistol. As expected, I had a lot of trouble pulling the slide on the S&W and frankly shot straighter...

      More questions from the newbie

This is like cramming for finals, huh?;) I handled a few handguns today and have eliminated semi automatics. It's just too hard to pull the slide and I know I'll wind up never using one. That having been said, I tried some S&W .38 specials and really liked a few. However, what I REALLY...

      Why gloves

OK. I'm gonna ask another girl question, so brace yourself. Why do you wear shooting gloves? Is it to protect your hands from heat? Or, just to look "cool", like driving gloves? A girl's gotta know!

Questions about gun shows in general

OK, please bear with me, I'm so green. If I went to a gun show in Maryland and purchased a revolver, what do I need? I have the card that you fill out and send to the police department (sent that a few days ago) and I've viewed the video. I assume that when you buy a gun, it has to go through...

      Hello from Millersville

Hi: I'm a 62 year old lady who totally believes in the right to bear arms. I also feel that since I am a home owner, I should probably keep a pistol handy for protection. It should be noted that I have little or no experience with handguns, but am blessed with a wonderful brother who is very...
