Cool, I was just looking at this last week on a manufacturers site. Wasnt sure how hard it would be to find someplace fairly local t get it done. If the price is right, I was thinking of doing a 10-22 in 1970's tiger stripe...

When you say '70's do you mean Vietnam green tiger.

I couldnt tell for sure with the manufacturers site, but I think it looked like you cant do scopes wit this stuff?
Yes you can do scopes. However, it will only be with a signed waiver. No shop will dip scopes without it. Because if they leak they are done and yes even the best scopes fail. One decorator we know told us that he dipped a 2000$ leupold once and it fogged before he got it out of the tank. The manufacture will usually make it right. If the scope was waterproof, which most are.

Hotwheels? I hope your talking about your actual car and not toys. This process is not cheap.
The finish is as good as the clear coat. The clear i use is for firearms specifically. It is dead flat with hardener. Very durable. Just remember that all finishes can be scratched.

No, I meant hotwheels, the little cars. I have been customizing them for several years now and just like anything else, always fun to do something different. I have a larger scale car that I would love to see the reaper finish done on. as far as the price goes, not sure that you understand, I am not suggesting taking a hotwheel out of the pack and doing this. Just like anything else, there is a whole community of people who build custom hotwheels that go for several hundreds of dollars - Just like this, we tend to spend the cash on what we want to be different that's all.
What other patterns and graphics can you do?

What would be the cost to get a complete rifle dipped in the reaper finish? I'd like to get my REPR dipped in REAPER. :D

Gunrunner, Yes, Vietnam style is what I was thinking. I am not married to it, but that is the general idea. I need to do some searching on the net, I seem to recall seeing someone having done a gun in a more subdued version of that tiger stripe.

I would like to do the scope as well. I am plannign to do this to a 10-22, not my Barrett, so the scope wont be high dollars anyway. I have a nice Nightforce on the 50 cal, and wouldnt subject it to this process, just out of fear!

I am not a big fan of skulls perse, but I kinda like that Reaper finish, might look good on one of my AR's...

I might be interested in doing a pistol in some sort of urban as well.

Hmm, there really is no limit once you get started in this, is there?

Looking forward to more details when you are up and running!

I like them. I'm guessing that the dip involves floating the finish on top of the water and passing the piece through like the inside cover pages of fancy books? Got any pics of the actual process? The dipping would probably preclude me from putting this finish on my car.

You sure could do this on your car. Drive car to boat ramp, Dump pallets of stencil in water, Drive car into water.... Dipping done, But getting car out would be a bitch lol.
