I confess! I'm a newb at the whole W&C thing. But I've been trying to make it a regular part of my routine so that it eventually becomes second nature.

I'm curious if anyone has ever been called out for carrying? I discovered the hard way this weekend that one of my shirts is not as well suited to carrying as I thought. Apparently it gets hung up on the grip texture of the gun I carry, so it does not slide down over the weapon as easily as it should. That resulted in someone seeing what they shouldn't have while I was visiting my dad at his assisted living facility. Thankfully, it was handled in a very reasonable fashion, but someone did ask me to put my gun in my car while I was there. *sigh* I guess I've got some more work to do.
not me but the customer in front of me walking into Walmart got called out for it due to the metal detectors, which he was right for saying to the greeter "It is none of your business."

Does popping cut rate dick pills to induce a priapism so people ignore my gun count as printing?

I think people look at me because I'm such a disreputable individual, not because I carry.

    Priapism!!!

Check out the big dick brain on Brett!!

Your beverage and pizza is on me at the next Pub Dog-a-rama

I am a dickbrain, for sure. Your offer is most kind. I have only made one of your events as I work seven days a week.

More on topic, nobody at your event stared at my gun or my priapism. Guess they weren't impressive enough.

Walmart doesn’t have metal detectors, those towers you’re seeing are EAS (Electronic Article Surveillance), they’re activated by specific tags that are designed to bounce back radio frequencies which generates the audible and visual alert. They aren’t activated by other objects.

The MDShooters community is clearly in agreement on everything. I don't think I've heard a disagreement all year. So, yeah, how did that happen?

Concealed means concealed. Yup. If you care enough to make sure nobody can see, than you probably won't get caught printing. Or you go disarmed because, laundry, or whatever. Better to be a helpless target than to risk making someone uncomfortable.

Honestly, it's sometimes inconvenient to wear the perfect concealment outfit, especially in Summer. Some people will say "no excuse, do it properly or don't do it at all." Personally, I'm becoming less and less concerned about other people's comfort. Screw 'em. I'll hide the stupid thing just to avoid the inconvenience of having to deal with Karen's Gone Wild, and for general politeness. But I refuse to be shamed for taking responsibility for my own safety. Hell, the "general politeness" thing I'm beginning to think is counterproductive. It might be a tactical advantage to stay hidden, but I'm not sure it is good long term strategically.

The upcoming SB1 law prohibiting open carry is shaming us into hiding, because it wouldn't be good to let the general populace know that armed self defense is common and permitted. This is a way to control the general opinion. We are being othered. But it doesn't matter because we are hiding and othering our own damn selves. We are afraid to put stickers on our cars (OMG, someone might break in and steal your guns! Or just vandalize the crap out of your car. Wouldn't want people at work to know we aren't freakin' Marxists or anything). We are afraid to put up political signs because our neighbors might know that we aren't peaceful little sheep like they are. We are afraid to put the freakin' American Flag in our front yards because some folks will automatically assume we are racists. We won't wear 5.11 clothes because it looks too "tactical" and people might get ideas. And I'm getting sick of it. Going unnoticed as the Gray Man might keep you out of individual trouble; but it is ceding the moral high ground to the statists and thug lovers. We need to stop this. I need to stop this. God, I'm tired of it all.

I'm going to buy and fly a new American Flag. It's been too long. I'm going to go put a freakin' Gadsden Flag on my freakin' gas sipping, chihuahua hauling, Yaris. That should confuse some folks. I'm going to go buy a damned 5.11 tactical vest to hide my otherwise occasionally poorly concealed p365 just because I'm told I shouldn't. Screw 'em all!

End of furiously typing pissed off rant. Sorry if it isn't terribly articulate.

One of them is either a goal , or a proposed strategy adjustment for specific circumstances .

The other is subjective interpretation of a subjective interpretation .

They're not * Supposed * to be activated by anything else . But false alarms are far from uncommon . ( Long boring story in there , suitable for in person )

But i'd give odds it was more likely your phone or something else electronic , than your Roscoe .

I find I can wear my Roscoe in an Enigma holster underneath a loincloth, and the only thing people notice are my 4" stiletto heels. The sunburn is hell, though.

If I was a buff vegan crossfit guy, they'd pay more attention to my nubile body, and check out my package a little more closely. It's good to be old and fat.

There was a time I was setting off those detectors all the time. I always just ignored them.

One day at Home Depot, a sympathetic clerk asked me, "Did you get those boots at Walmart? They have an RFID tag embedded in the heel." He offered to degauss the tag for me, and I never set off an alarm again.

So those RFID tags could be anywhere, which could explain why someone sets off alarms frequently.

I have never had the sense that someone has spotted me printing. I actually feel pretty confident that no one has. However, it may just be my own obliviousness. My wife has told me that she sees other women checking me out all the time, but I don't notice that.

We went out today, I know I was printing. No one seemed to notice.

Frankly I think most people are too damn self absorbed to pay attention. It's a good thing breathing is autonomous...

This is correct- people who often think it is one object it’s actually something else on their person, lots of stores will help you deactivate an embedded tag you came in with in clothing, shoes, accessories.

    This 100%

If you knew you were printing, why no adjustment?

    Didn't care? Open carrying?
I adjusted but this shirt is a tad clingy and the shorts I had on didn't allow me to adjust the way I wanted. It wasn't horrible, but I was printing some.

And I didn't care so much.
