    Does the bill as passed only apply to residents, or does it provide con carry for non-residents, too? My FL permit is up for renewal in another month, and it would be handy if I didn't need to bother to renew.

    Edit: Never mind. This is in the summary text of the bill:
    ;authorizing a nonresident to carry a concealed weapon or concealed
    firearm in this state if he or she meets the same requirements as a resident;
    Here is the actual proposed language (strikethroughs are words in existing law that will go away with passage of the bill):
    790.015 Nonresidents who are United States citizens and349
    hold a concealed weapons license in another state; reciprocity.—
    (1) Notwithstanding s. 790.01, A nonresident of Florida
    may carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm, as that term
    is defined in s. 790.06(1), while in this state if the
    nonresident is a resident of the United States who is 21 years
    of age or older and he or she:
    (a) Satisfies the criteria for receiving and maintaining
    license to carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm under
    s. 790.06(2)(a)–(f) and (i)–(n), (3), and (10); or
    (a) Is 21 years of age or older.
    (b) Has in his or her immediate possession a valid license
    to carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm issued to the
    nonresident in his or her state of residence.
    (c) Is a resident of the United States.
    (2) A nonresident is subject to the same laws and
    restrictions with respect to carrying a concealed weapon or
    concealed firearm as a resident of Florida who is so licensed.
    (3) If the resident of another state who is the holder of
    a valid license to carry a concealed weapon or concealed firearm
    issued in another state establishes legal residence in this
    state by:
    (a) Registering to vote;
    (b) Making a statement of domicile pursuant to s. 222.17;
    or
    (c) Filing for homestead tax exemption on property in this
    state,

    Of course. Just got my FL non resident last month.
    Yeah. Second time I've been burned.
    First was paying a hundred bucks for a NH permit, so I could carry in PA. Rec'd the same week that AG Kane changed the rule. (Then she went to jail. Sadly, I think they let her out.)

    Now FL. At least it was cheaper.

    The only reason I have the FL license was because my wife, who's from AL, has a couple of relatives that live in the FL panhandle. Now that they're going CC/permitless carry, and will recognize all other licenses too, I no longer need it. My Utah license which costs only $25 plus a photo upload to renew on line will still cover me everywhere my DC, MD, PA and VA don't.

    Would you? As soon as they become comfortable there, they'll do their best to turn it into "home sweet home". Like a plague, they do that wherever they run to.
    Thankfully even though Florida is the sixth borough of NYC the state is turning more red with every election. DeSantis actually carried Miami-Dade last time.

    If it weren't for the topography, perpetual rain every summer day and hurricanes that is where I would be re-locating. Tennessee FTW.
