Just got a 3/23 eform submission disapproved.

FAILURE TO GENERATE SUBMITTED EFORM. TO REGAIN YOUR PLACE IN LINE, PLEASE RESUBMIT AND SEND BOTH THE
PREVIOUS AND REPLACEMENT CONTROL NUMBERS TO EFORMS.REQUEST@ATF.GOV FOR TRANSFER OF ANY PAPER
FINGERPRINT CARDS (ALREADY RECEIVED). REFUND IN PROCESS.

Not sure what to do now. I guess call my LGS? Used their silencer shop kiosk. This sucks.

Called LGS. They can't tell what happened. They're contacting Silencer Shop. What a mess.

@RebelYell I think you have to contact the BATFE to find out why.

    So as an update:
2 eForm 4s submitted for cans through Silence Central submitted 3/28/22. First one came back today 12/03/22, still waiting on the second one.

I then had to do a 4473 online with Silencer Central, they just sent that over Dec 8. Dec 9 they said there was a problem with my 4473. I have no idea why, I have filled out 4473s dozens of times. I filled it out again on 12/9 and they responded that there was a "slight error they could fix on their end"...no further information. The 4473 was sent back to me for E-signature 12/12.

In the meantime Silencer Central is supposed to notify the County Sheriff of the NFA transfer via certified mail. There is supposed to be a 7 day clock on that...I don't know if that has already started ticking, or if they wait until after they run the NICS on the 4473. I don't know what kind of shipping (ground, over-night, etc) they will send my can by...I'll update when I get a tracking #. It looks like it might be possible to have a can under the tree for XMas, but we'll see.

I still have not heard about the approval for can #2, even though it was submitted the same day, 3/28/22. I guess it went to a different agent's desk.

I also did a eForm 1 for a SBR on 12/03/22, National Gun Trusts is saying eForm 1 on a trust is averaging 37 days currently. The state average for Florida is 19. BATFE official wait times for an eForm 1 (updated 1 Oct 2022) is 60 days.

So LGS got in contact with Silencer Shop. Silencer Shop has to resubmit, meaning I have to go in and certify a new form. Per the disapproval, I can supposedly regain my place in line when I resubmit. Per the LGS, the screw up sounds like it was on Silencer Shop's end. Waiting to hear from Silencer Shop Compliance Department.

The clock on that starts when the certified mail is delivered. Sometimes they are never delivered and have to be resent. Ask me how I know. Then once those 7 days are up, they will issue a USPS tracking number for your cans, from the local FFL that is shipping them. At this point, your can is still in the Dakotas, and will be sent to the local ffl on a form 3, and not before, so you still have to wait 3-7 days before that tracking number is active, and your can actually ships to you. Figure 30 days from approval if the 4473 goes smoothly and the certified letter is delivered on time, for you can to be at your door. Better be there to sign for it.

It is a little worrisome that their certified mail can be lost, and they are shipping the cans with the same carrier.

Both my wife and I work from home, so being home for a signed delivery is rarely a problem. Once I have a tracking number, it's even easier to work around my schedule since I know that one of us has to be here on a specific day and rough time (USPS delivers before noon at our house).

An update on a paper form that the check cashed 5/21
    Quick as possible recap.
    Cashed 5/21
    Called NFA 8/22
Called NFA 9/22. At that time found out FBI had the info for background check since 3/22. Was told customer had to call FBI and find out what’s up. The FBI told him nothing could be done.
Called ATF , FBI and ATF’s FBI liaison 10/10/22
    Called back liaison 10/17/22 and
background done with FBI and sent back to ATF 10/12/22
Called ATF 12/5/22 and left mess.
Called back ATF 12/12/22 and found it had been approved.
    Arrived at shop 12/28/22
I have only talked to the customer twice during this whole time and I initiated both calls. He really wasn’t in a rush at all. I definitely believe that my calls to them paid off because the movement started once I got in touch with liaison and then again with the ATF. It is still ridiculous it took so long. I think when one falls off of the normal time line it gets buried.

I don't think we can have then mailed like this in MD.

Sure can. It goes from Silence Central to a FFL in MD that they have an agreement with, then from that FFL to you.

It is legal for a FFL to ship you something that is already registered to you. Not only is this registered to you via the NFA paperwork, but they have you fill out a digital 4473 before they ship it to you (yes, the 4473 isn't a registry, but it proves you went through the normal process to purchase this particular firearm...yes, suppressors are firearms according to current federal law). It's really the same as if you sent something off to the Springfield Custom Shop or something similar...they can ship something back that you already own.
