It's not 2013, it's Jan 13th 2023. (Original post edited for clarity now)

The BATFE is requiring proof that you owned the (now) "SBR" in it's current configuration with the (now) naughty pistol brace if you want a free tax stamp in accordance with ATF Final Rule 2021R-08F. Otherwise you have to go through the "regular" eForm 1 process and pay your $200.
I lost all mine in a boating accident while fishing the canyons. :D

I’ll pick up a can tomorrow and give them a spray.

For steel baffles, only way to fly is CLR and Ultrasonic, these baffles are from my Mask and Oculus(and 9mm Optimus) they were caked in fouling from a few bricks of 22 before. I use a 3L ultrasonic from Amazon 3L ultrasonic cleaner. Put the baffles in a plastic bag, fill with CLR and seal it, put that in the cleaner with a tank of clean water. Run at 160 degrees for an hour, comes out spotless, it doesn't convert fouling to lead acetate like the dip, so not as toxic. I clean the tubes and mounts with a fine steel wire brush in a drill. I don't really keep track of round count or anything, just if my 22 cans seem heavy, I'll clean all the cans that are dirty, probably 5 minutes of actual work. Have seen some clean sealed rifle cans by plugging the muzzle, filling with CLR, then setting in an ultrasonic with clean water. I'm sure it would work, but not 100% sure even plain water in an ultrasonic won't damage some can finishes given enough time.

Soon as the ATF publishes the brace rule and millions have an opportunity at "free" SBR stamps, wait times might make the current year-ish look like the good old days. Hopefully that helps make the case for "a right delayed is a right denied" and we can go after the NFA itself in the courts.

the way i read it they want proof the trust owned it prior to 1/13/23 if you wanted to register it in a trust. if not you can do it as an individual then transfer it to the trust with a $200 tax for the second transfer. i don't think just having invoice is enough. i think they want a copy of the schedule A with the date the trust owned it.

I guess we'll see, but that is totally stupid. Like, why would you have a non-NFA item in a trust? I'm sure there are a few folks out there that have non-NFA items in a trust of some kind...but that's an extremely low percentage. If they tell me to pound sand, I'll pay the $200 and register it normally. I don't see the point in doing it "for free" as an individual and then doing a form 4 to my trust...that's just extra steps.

This is going to git hit with lawsuits so fast it'll make the ATF's head spin. I'm actually shocked we haven't heard about any already. I'm sure the law suits are at least being drafted.

they changed the date on the eforms website. now it reads they want proof of the firearm being in the trust prior to the date it is published in the register and as of now I don't think it has been published so you could add it to your trust now and be ok.

except it's already been submitted and you can't alter anything once you submit.

So LGS got in contact with Silencer Shop. Silencer Shop has to resubmit, meaning I have to go in and certify a new form. Per the disapproval, I can supposedly regain my place in line when I resubmit. Per the LGS, the screw up sounds like it was on Silencer Shop's end. Waiting to hear from Silencer Shop Compliance Department.
Re-submitted on 12/16 and e-mailed ATF per their instructions on my disapproval "to regain my spot in line." Crickets. I've emailed several times since then. Anyone have any luck getting a response out of the eforms e-mail inbox or is it just a black hole? I called the NFA Division and they were no help. This whole process is absurd.

Looking for another suppressor, Rugged Obsidian 9. Is there a specific way to do this. would like to transfer through my lgs in Edgewater. I have a trust. He has one in the safe for 6 mo. now so I'm guessing thats the norm but MDS has kept me from making mistakes in the past so I'm just throwing this out there. Bought an Xbox to help pass the time. Thanks
Buy Bitcoin stock and wait. You will be rich before you ever see the Obsidian 9 !!
