So you went out of your way to invite the AG to issue an opinion that open carry isn't allowed?
That would be great! There's no legal basis for that opinion. Presumably it would leave him wide open for a civil rights lawsuit and personally liable for punitive damages.

Meanwhile false arrest lawsuits would be transferring wealth from the various counties and agencies to the pockets of responsible gun owners, or at least that would be my hope. Sort of a ghetto lottery for the rest of us.

AG office issues opinions on law all the time. They issued one to Hogan that led to the suspension of G&S
No, they issued one to the MSP per MSP’s request. The Court of Special Appeals issued an unpublished decision agreeing with Bruen. Frosh didn’t have to do anything.

The AG will issue opinions, but they aren’t exactly law. If I’m not mistaken, didn’t Frosh issue many opinions on the legality of Maryland’s former “may issue” laws?

You’re too kind to our self-serving politicians. Slime shouldn’t be brought down to their level.
True. I will issue an apology to slime.

Yep. And his pee-pee got slapped with a ruler. They were ALL unconstitutional.

Yep. Enough walking on eggshells, it is proven to not help. There are people here who believe we should play nice, I wonder how many of them have been to Annapolis to testify.
Once they do, they'd understand that being nice doesn't get us anywhere.

There's still time & place for each .

Open carry with a permit is not forbidden in the law therefore it is legal. The AG cannot legally change that.

Several years back when I took my Utah class the instructor said he likes to open carry once in awhile just to remind the police it was legal.

Seems like something that could be easily changed. Wonder why they don't, especially since they are considering constitutional carry.
Realistically - They've been doing it that way since the '80s , when they started the modern Shall Issue Era , and started the ball rolling .

But inertia set in , and most of the voters and most of the legislators are used to CCW , and think it's plenty good enough . They can visualize concealed carry w/o a Permit , but few visualize wishing to OC outside the blatant hunting , fishing, backcountry camping presently carved in .

Cynically - Tourist industry brings in $ Billions to the state . Many tourists are from coastal liberal enclaves , and internationally , where guns are icky , and they don't want to upset the tourists .

Sounds like a new topic for a police audit video.
Some random guy video records in public trolling for a police officer to demand ID and threaten the guy. 45 minutes later, 6 cops and a supervisor figure out hus rights and boogie.
Could get interesting if we add a Desert Eagle open carried by Mr. Video.
