I’m against this bs training, but after not having an opportunity my entire adult life - 16 hours is 16 hours. No shortcuts and you don’t have to worry about this chit.

I took the class from miles71, and it was exactly what I needed. Definitely more than 25 rounds. Frankly, I’ve never been about the bare minimum.

    2 hour 16hr classes - obvious
    No Show classes - obvious

12- 14 hour classes , where the students pass any written tests , and shoot qualifying scores ? I could see discipline / suspend/ revoke the Instructor's certification , but not automatically revoke the students .
And my question would be, how do you know that the previous classes weren't full classes? Maybe he was teaching 16 hour classes all along, then in September he was busy/greedy and cut back on hours. How can MSP go back and invalidate previous classes? Does MSP ensure that customers are reimbursed for the training they paid for, but allegedly didn't receive? After all, MSP has "Certified" these instructors...

Yes. Then instructors cannot be accused of doing too little. Follow this curriculum.

Even better the state should be forced to provide the training free of charge if they choose to mandate it
I smell a 16 hour video in the offing...

All this because the House of Lords never thought their subjects would ever be given the right of self defense

Because most students at a basic level class ( of whatever ) don't have a basis of knowledge to be able to judge the quality of the material .

So I'm waiting to hear back specifics but likely has to do with the time constraints.

Mind you. we all agree this arbitrary roadblock is ludicrous and likely unconstitutional... its the path we must take for now.

And as I recall in a thread full of vague innuendos and no one naming names, this has been done before on the eastern shore...and the balto city cop a couple years ago just taking cash money for certs.

We all know the "lords" want us disarmed, so any chance they get they will come for us

16 hours is clearly defined. If the instructor cuts corners and attendees stay silent then they are complicit.

Many on here feel wronged with the whole idea of training. While everyone is entitled to their opinion mine differs. I do not want uneducated and inexperienced people carrying. Same logic applies people driving on the road and the requirement of a DL.

No one here argues that training isnt good... But the arbitrary requirements to exercise a fundamental right is onerous.

Plus, with zero standardization, what YOU get in a class will be entirely different from what I get. Some people will only shoot the 25 rounds, some apparently will shoot 500 (another thread in WC) its vastly different and completely bogus created by legislature who doesn't want us to carry anyway.

The 500 rounds ended up being an outlier due to special circumstance. Apparently for the person with that requirement, it was due to them being signed up for a defensive handgun course that was concurrent with their permit training.

There is no reason that there should be any restrictions on your 2nd amendment right. Any state entity restricting and demanding their “training” is an infringement on your rights. Hopefully someone sues the state of maryland for massive money and wins. Once Md has to start paying out to people they will change their tune. Once a politician loses that money they planned on stealing they will change things. Lol

Except there is no constitutional right to drive and no THT supporting “16 hours of training”.

What, you didn't take your 4th Amendment training yet? Guess we get to search your vehicle now...

Also, I have but two words for Mr. Green (and/or his attorney"). "Unconstitutionally Vague." As in, I understand the state believes I have not trained people to their specifications, however, your honor, those specifications are Unconstitutionally Vague, so how can I know if I'm performing to the gov't's specifications? Their word? LIke when we took their word on "good and substantial?"

It's common knowledge that there are companies that 'ghost write' reviews for lots of companies. Online reviews are completely untrustworthy IMO.

The Guntry site (where I took the class) says to bring 200 rounds. The instructor on day 1 said to bring 100. We used about 50. One gal had some problems hitting the qualification silhouette. I don't know if she passed or failed. The room we were in got hot, so as we got our scores we went out to the larger room to cool off. Either way, she NEEDED this and more.
